I beat a b16!!
Holy cow! thats what i said when I beat my friends 98 civic with a b16 swap. It was crazy. we were headed to Maria's Mexican Kitchen for some fine dining when we caught a red light on 16th street (a main street here in Merced) Anyways...this guys car is fast. its like a "known" car here in merced. I wish i knew exactly what he has in his car - cuz i know its a lot. I just finished breaking in my clutch...i have almost 500 miles on it. So i figured I would test it out. The light went green and we both mashed on it. I got a better launch and was ahead of him the whole race. at the end we were going probably only 80 or maybe a tad more but his front bumper was even with my rear bumper. It was CRAZY!!! i was soooooo shocked. Well, i just wanted to share my moment of glory with you guys.
i you guys have kept on going he'd probably beat you i kept up with a stock EM1. up until 90, then he started pulling away we got to 120 and at the end he was like a car ahead of me

Rep Power: 0 I raced one 97-98 b16 the guy up the block. He tore me up. When it was time for me to shift gears he kept going in that gear he had alot more in the band then I did so I couldnt keep up. It wasnt even a race, he just owned me.

Rep Power: 297 lol. ya a couple weeks back i raced a CRX ( don't know what year) and he raped me bad. its wierd tho cuz that civic I beat yesterday really is known in merced. Like when we talk about racing its always "oh ya? well i bet you cant beat Bonnie" or "now do you think you can you beat bonnie." or "you think you can beat me? i almost kept up with bonnie" lol maybe he had a bad day yesterday, huh?

120?! in a vic. i've only done that goin' down a huge freegin' hill. then it topped out. i'd like to say i believe you...but im havin' a hard time belivevin' u.

Yea ive been 120(i may have gone higher i but i let off at 120) in my vic vurses a 7thgen Si its on a video somewhere on someone's video camera :P

I swear, i always here people talking about this dudes car. well..actually, not always...i always USED to hear about this guys car in high school. i didn't know him then and I drove a 90 Chevy lumina. this dude was a senior and drove a sick *** civic with a b16. i didn't meet him til way after he graduated so i guess i still think of his car as being "well known." Either way, and the point of this thread, I beat him. lol

Good run, I been to Merced, there is a lot of people that swap. What color is your car? Is it stock? I come there like once every once in a while, but I dont see much 01 and up civic there. i was there today saw a drop red one and that was it.
