me vs mustang

well its not that big of a race or anything, it was a black mustang 6 cylinder not a GT, I was just commin home on the freeway and I saw this mustang like ripped *** in my rear view to get by me...I guess when I entered the freeway I was flooring it and he heard my intake because my car is bone stock besides that...so at around 80mph we both gunned it and were going until 110 and there were cars in front of us, I braked this idiot took the emergency lane..all this dust came onto the freeway...but im just curious are the v6 mustangs THAT slow? I wouldn't expect to be able to hang with a mustang off a roll? I just have an AEM V2 and thats it.

It didn't make sense to me, I do feel my car got faster from the AEM V2 top end now, cuz the same way I punched it I expected to be aroudn 100-105 but I was at 110, but unless the V6 mustang is slow as heck I don't know how I kept up with it, lets say it was automatic which I have no idea if it was, would that makes sense?

Yeah/\/\ Ditto. My bro has a 2000 Mustang V6 5speed and it's a load-a crap. He's got a flowmaster exhaust and a mac performance CAI on it. It dosen't really get that much pull on me on the highway over 50, but off the line it does torque us pretty bad. His car runs a 15.6 at the track. We have peeps on here running their civics at 15.7's N/A. So that could explain why u hanged

When it comes race time, let him do that nice big smokey burn out and you can just on with a slight chirp in the tires.

yeh i was on my way to my friends house and i ended up behind a v6 mustang. I'll give you a picture of the road. Its a two lane road leading away from town that goes from 35 mph speed limit to a 50 mph speed limit. It turns 50 once you pass the bridge and it turns into a 4 lane road that goes up a considerably steep hill. As soon as we pass the bridge I hear his tires chirp so i guess that its a 5 spd. I throw it into 2nd and kick it. I pulled on him hard enough by third gear that i had to let up on the gas. I cut off but he keeps going probably still thinking that we were racing because he keeps going full throttle. I was laughing the rest of the way back to my friends house.

I once raced a 96 v6 mustang 150 hp and those ***** are really slow they dont even take me off the line when i was stock i raced one with headers exhaust and intake and barely lost but now i smoke him bad but i have never raced the new mustangs but i wonder the same thing because there is a car club with all mustangs here and i challenge a v6 and he didnt want to so i guess that says something.

I didn't think they were that slow....especially on the freeway since it has more torque, but I guess it has all that weight to pull as well....or is it just that our civics are really fast ....hah don't we wish

And a big waste on gas! You figure you'd get more than 195Hp and 225lb. ft. of torque out of a 3.8 liter V6! The new accord V6's are 3.0 liter V6's pumping out 240 horses and i forget how much torque!

SMX is on a distinguished road
The big difference is that is the slowest mustang in the corral. The 8 cylinder NA's will leave us in the dust. The cobra's run mid 12s all day long with minor tweaking. Yeah, so our cars can hang with the slowest mustangs, BFD.

he even admitted my car was faster and this was back when all I had was rims tires and an air intake.
