This kid at school wants to race me. Hes got a 97 Civic DX hatch back 5 spd. His only mods are cold air intake, skunk 2 coilovers, short shifter and a welded on generic muffler. He claims that he could beat my 2004 civic EX 5 spd. I have yet to put my FIPK on as it is on its way but i have a short shifter and hks hipower axleback exhaust for mods. Who do u think will win? He should have less weight but less hp.... whos race is it?

Alright guys.... I decided that id stoop to his level and race.. I ended up doin as u guys said i would...smoke him.. He was a few car lengths behind and i think it was mainly because his shifting was not at optimum times. He was so confident that he could beat an 04 ex that had less mods than his. I think the little extra of what was already little of torque may have helped... we raced from parked to go and also from a roll of about 30mph got him both times... he wants to race again...says his car was making a weird sound and thinks it has to go get his tranny fixed!!!HAHAHHA

ya i beat my friend who has a 6th gen with i/h/e and im completely stock. we raced from a stop and from a roll and i beat him by atleast a car each time.

i raced plently of random cars on the road for fun n usually i beat em all. but one thing about older gen. civics i dont like is u dunno if they have a diff. motor under the hood which spooks me sumtimes. for example: im just waitin for the light to turn green, a civic 95 hatchback pulls up next to me with sum cosmetic mods to looks nice.. makes me think if i should race with him? does he got a b18 in their or b16. n it sucks to lose. really

LOL Yeah, you never know what engines those older Honda's have. I am not really impressed with the B16 though. A while back some guy with a G2 GSR Integra thought he was all hot sh*t because he traded his rare B17 GSR engine, for a B16. His new B16 had I/H/E and a hi flow cat, but I was still getting better times than him. The B16 really doesn't impress me too much.
