quit chirping the tires, its not making you go faster! and its bad for the transmission, clutch and any other part attached to your drivetrain.

the specs have a hard time gripping the road when launching. If they had better tires it might help but there is too much torque to the front wheels. I have heard it many times at Autox's when they try to start the race and they spend the first 5 seconds chirping and barely moving. Even if it is a small launch they will most likely chirp.
It was stock and I couldnt tell if it were auto or not, but I was able to tell I was faster because he was obviously trying to give it some juice. I pulled away gradually, not like he was standing still or anything. I was disappointed though, he wasnt as fast as I expected.

ok nice vid and yes they do have alot of torque but thats not whats breaking the tires loose.
I watched the vids a few times and it seemed to me you were slipping the clutch when you shift which like zz said is bad for your tranny and your clutch. try getting your left foot to move faster cause you're inapropriatley stepping on the gas faster then you let the clutch out which is breaking the tires loose.
next time make a vid showing your tach and feet clearly and you'll see what I mean. I made the same mistake when I was first learning to drag now I NEVER chirp any gear and shaved a full second off my 1/4 mile times.
Nice vid though keep em coming.

most definitely will keep the vids coming =o) from different cars too...but theres no way getting around spinning 2nd...unless you do want to lose alot of time....i do have a vid of my tach i do believe.
cluster shot
well what I did to help me was remove the front passenger seat and setup a tripod so tah I had a nice view of my gauges, feet, shifter. This way you can make several runs and then compare the vids. I'm gonna be doin some at the track once I start racing again cause I think it'll be a great learning tool.

that would be a cool way...i think that i can get it by mounting it on the drivers seat headrest and zooming in over my shoulder....i dont think i can contend with the removal of the passenger seat idea...my girlfriend would be pissed having to sit in the back =o)
thats why you do it without her in the car. lol it should only be 4 bolts to take it out. I have the old stupid one of my car I was on a curvy road like you were only at night and by myself so I had to hold the camera updie down. lol was my first attempt.

^^^ Yeah that was bad shifting too. when I'm racing I shift at 8350 rpms not 8 like the video. and I land at 6400 in 2nd, 6700 in 3rd, 7,000+ in 4th and 7000 in 5th.
now with the new clutch if I shift at 3k I land at 2600 rpms! I cant wait til I can mess around at full rpms see what I can do now! lol

I think I'll make a new one tonight. I can only rev to 5k cause I still wanna baby my engine but I only lose about 5-600 rpms when I shift now cause of the new clutch. It's awesome sight to see. lol cant wait til I hit the track again.
Yeah, SE-Rs do have insane amnts of torque, I've heard the same thing about tire chirp, plus I've heard that its really easy to hit the rev limiter as well, I think its set at about only 6200rpm(?) isn't it?
