is it auto to auto or auto to manual or what if hes manual and yer auto yer toast if its the other way around you prob win . if yer bolth auto or bolth manual its a drivers race

Rep Power: 319 If his car is auto hes screwed, those cars are slooooooooow. My brakes were making a wierd sound in my civic so my friend let me drive her focus, that thing was so sloppy feeling & had no pickup whatsoever. I've never drivin an auto 7thgen so I donno about those.

Rep Power: 0 Assuming your cars have both manual 5-sed transmission, and you have an EX, I’m almost sure the civic will win in a straight line… in drag, acceleration, and top speed… ford gear ratio is too long compared next to civics… the weight also goes against focus.
About cornering… you may have a handicap…
Though civics have a good handling, The ford has a really well balanced chassis, and a real great handling…
In this matter what will count won’t be the car but the driver… It’s a matter of guts and experience…
I’m proud of beating a Focus ST170 (Yes, 4-pot 170hp) in a mountain road (~5mile long)…
I started 5 seconds behind him, 1.x mile in his rear, overtook him in the end of one of the two only straights (just hit the brakes later than he did…), and got a 26 second advance in the last three miles…
Of course I was much more crazy then him… my only mods where 15”s and Koni Sport’s at that time…

Rep Power: 319 Whats the difference between a regular focus & a ZX3?? Cuz the focus I drove was the sloppiest feeling car, it would have no chance of beating a civic in anything at all, but it was a regular sedan, is the ZX3 that much better??

hell naw, the civic should win hands down. what kind of a focus can beat an extra quick civic.. especially one with a 5 speed manual. if u can't win, send him over here to detroit. i'll take care of him.
