Rep Power: 0 You Will Get SMOKED,, and then after he smokes you he will roll you again and smoke you again just for the hell of it.
You have no chance of winning unless he misshifts, or grinds gears, or just doesnt know how to drive in general.
I would not advise you take this offer to race him at any time.
Joe

Rep Power: 0 I think you can pull it off, just race and find out. You might get lucky, his car might catch on fire during the race causing him to pull over leaving you with the win. Of course I'm just playing, but I think you can beat him, I have a 2k1 lx 5spd only with AEM and I was able to hang with one that just had an exhaust.

Rep Power: 325 power at the fly wheel means nothing. its all about the power at the wheels. so they have 130hp and 135lbs. however there drive train might not be as efficent as ours. so they could have that much power but only be putting down 100 hp. remember it is a ford. but more of a factor is the driver.

@ the flywheel the focus has 15+ hp, and 25+ lbs-ft......
lets use for honda 10% drivetrain loss, so estimate 104HP to the wheels, and 99lbs-ft....
lets use 10% for ford, incase drivetrain losses are the same for both cars...estimate 112hp, and 122lbs-ft
if you want to say that ford is not as efficent in drivetrain, lets use 15% for ford, so estimate 107hp, and 115lbs-ft......
in both cases, the ford still has more HP to the ground, it is going to come down to driver, but i think the ford does have a slight advantage on you

This is what bugs me. If a corolla has 3 more hp than the vic ex, everybody thinks the corolla is faster. Nonsense! Anyhow, the zx3 has a little more hp, but how much does it weigh, what about the gearing, and most importantly, the DRIVER? Any car is fair game unless it has a substantially more power. A few hp doesn't mean a whole lot. If he did win, I wouldn't think he would 'smoke' you.
Get a good launch, and shift fast and smooth, on a 1/4 tank. Let us know what happens.

Rep Power: 0 Also keep in mind that the ZX3 has DOHC, and they can pull hard off the line and keep pulling all through their band just like us but they can do it a little better. It is a driver's race but I am betting my money on the Ford.

Rep Power: 353 It's easy, you can beat him. Here's how.
1. Before the race, collect some dirt and store it hidden away.
2. When the race is about to start, make sure he has his window down so you can tell him good luck.
3. When he looks at you, throw the dirt in his eyes.
4. Slam on the gas and SMOKE HIS ***.

Rep Power: 0 Well we raced today after i got off work, and i ended up winning and politely collecting my 200 dollars from him that we bet. We started at a light and i dropped it at about 4000 rpms, it was dead even until second gear, and into second we both chirped them and i pulled some until he was even with my door, then third and and i pulled some more and then he flashed his lights and hit his brakes, we pulled into the food lion parking lot where he gave me my money and told me that i won fair and square!!!!

Rep Power: 0 I have to say good kill, you did good. Now just make sure that you can do that every time.
As for the V-6 Mustang, those thigns are a joke car indeed. they rn like 16-17's in the 1/4, and that is truly sad for a V-6. I know that my intrepid with the 3.5L+mods will run down in the 14's.
