Auto Should Be Illegal

Auto Should Be Illegal I have a 03 manual coupe and a friend of mine has a 03 auto sedan.
We are the only 7th gen civics in our school, every friday everyone of the school parking is invited after school to race in a street next to applebees(like 1/8).
We race with VW, Seats, Renaults, Peugots, Fords, Chevs, Nissans, dodge.. everyone go.
The problem is that I cant stand to see how everyone beats my friend auto sedan(except focus and a old bettle).
I cant explain why its 1st gear is so slow.
My proposal:
Engines < 2.0 + Auto = Illegal!!!
What ya think of my propose?

i like the reasoning though, his friend gets beat a lot in races, so auto's should be illegal, lol, thats too funny.

My next car will be a stick. I'll bring it to the track.
Im just happy I have transportation because most of my friends don't. The auto is actually stopping me from modding the car. Which I think is a good thing because our cars are slow anyway

Rep Power: 290 unfortunately for us jorge lives in good ol' MEXICO he's got us by the *****, damn wish i could play with a pegeout 206, or a seat. those are badass...you guys get opel also? Not many laws ofr cars, so hes defnitely in the clear, but probably my only suggestion for your 03 auto friend is this. When racing with autos, you do have a LITTLE control on shifting...wanna know?
when accelerating hard, rev till it hits 6500 rpm, then for about 1-2 seconds let go of the throttle, just take your foot off the gas, youll feel a little kick, then press it again, there are four gears in your auto so do it four times, keep doin it (PRACTICE), youll get fast very quick.. ENJOY!

Rep Power: 351 Someone needs to learn how to "auto shift." And tell him to put the windows up and turn the fan and radio off when running. I know the ways mexicans like to look when they drive. Im one of them.

Its the fastest of its segment of medium cars.

the world is lazy, we look for convience. automatic transmission = convient
plus, it keeps our hands free for other things such as holding a finger out the window, stuff our face with fast food, holding the cell phone, drinking while driving, feed the baby! and many others
and there are just cars so rediculously fast that, you NEED an automatic, because you simply can't shift fast enough

Does your friend have an EX? Try turning everything off: windows rolled up, radio off, ac off, headlights off, etc. Putting the car in D3 might also help a little.

but seriously i envy you. youre living in a world where a civic is a ferrari and every day its 2 slow 2 be serious. and you post a thread wanting to outlaw automatic transmissions becuase youre car is slow or something. hell, until now i thought one of the riciest comments ive heard was "my stock civic runs 10s at the 1/8th and tops out a 150 mph" (which was last night if i might add) but you gave me a laugh jorge....thanks.

...if you friend wanted to race, then he should have got a stick...or a faster RWD car if drag racing is what attracts him...
i personnally beleive that there's no driving skills involed in drag racing and it's all about who has the most dough
you and your friend should try autocross...much more fun and demands more skills...and it doesn't rely on your car's engine but the driver's performance...
...if you friend wanted to race, then he should have got a stick...or a faster RWD car if drag racing is what attracts him...

Rep Power: 339 too bad most americans are too dumb to learn stick... that's why auto is widely used in the states. but if you go anywhere else around the world (outside the americas), auto is rare to find. kinda like stick is almost rare to find here. just an option that car buyers don't go for.
