Launching a boosted civic
What RPMs and technique do you guys use? I'm racing at a local car show (1/4 mile) the day after my turbo install and I need somewhat of a basis for my launch.
Im thinking around 3K, feather the clutch and get almost full throttle in 1st, shift in second and then mash it. Is this the best way?

that'd be my advice. not that i have a tubo or any thing.....

If you had AWD i could help you, but i only know Turbo + FWD = no traction
However i'd be cautious of using drag slicks (assuming your going to a track) because its much much easier to break things when you do hookup with alot of power. Im kinda in that situation with AWD if i try to launch to hard instead of getting tire spin, craps starts breaking. If your running on stock axles I wouldn't try to launch too aggressivly if you get some stupid sticky tires.

Get some Falken Azenis. Then pulse the throttle to get the turbo spooled up. Then launch around 3200 rpm. If it starts to bog, give it full throttle. If it starts to spin, pluse the throttle until it tries to grip. If you dont get any traction while shifting into 2nd, you can short shift 1st at about 5000-5200 rpm.
Doing this i achieved a 2.0 60/ft time with stock suspension.

Yeah that comment was pretty funny lol. Thanks for the replies, Catalyst that sounds good. I pulse my friends GSX so you hear the BOV constantly while waiting for the green, so I know what your talking about.
