Daddy Shut Down an Eclipse...in his Beater!!
Both Civics were safe at home - I was driving the super ultra deluxe pimp daddy Rollsmobile Delta 88 Royale, loaded up with old-*** 45 yr old me, my 35 yr. old female friend, her 11 yr old daughter, and my 2 giant schnauzers.
At THE ONLY
traffic light in the town we were passing through, there are two lanes side-by-side at the traffic light. But once you pass the light there is about a 1/10 mile straightaway, then the right lane ends and must merge into the left lane.
Since I had been through this town before, I got into the left lane so I wouldn't have to worry about merging. Of course the stupid light turned red and we were first in line. Then a maroon Eclipse with tinted windows zoomed up in the right lane and started inching up and revving his engine. That ticked me off, so I inched up to stay even with his front bumper, then I started brake-torquing the automatic in the big Olds.
When the light turned green, the new Yokohamas on the Olds gave one little squeak and the 220 ft/lbs of torque gave me a full fender holeshot on the Mitsubishi, who had some tire spin. He started to catch up with me toward the top of his 1st gear, but when he had to shift, it went right back to that 1 fender length. By the time he started to catch up again, his lane was running out and he had to back out of it and give up.
My passengers were so shocked while it was happening that they just looked at the Eclipse the whole time, then when it was over they just started laughing hysterically.
I don't guess the Eclipse dude will be posting this one on his kill forum: "Owned by middle-aged family and their dogs in P.O.S. rusted out car"
