Beat an RX8
I raced an RX8 today! For a stock car thoose things are quick.
Ok heres what happened: From a dead stop he got me off the line b/c of traction problems, but by about 80 I had him by a car length. That traction control really helped him there.
From a 20 mph roll I kicked his *** the whole way, I overtook him by 60.
BTW his car was the 250 hp verson w/ 6spd. Anybody know what they run in the 1/4?

i looked at one tonight at my dealership (they get those things in like crazy) and it was silver with the full factory body kit 6 speed with dvd nav and it was completely open. if i had any knowledge of stealing cars i would have most likely taken it. the only problem was there was like a cracked front bumper.

My dad just bought a rx-8 like last week i drove it last night there pretty quick for such a heavy car with 238 horses ya he got the 6 speed so it does really have 238 horses but the handling is what amazes me it has about 50/50weight distribution because of that little 13b rotary in front when he lowers it it will handle even better . The only complaint i have is its heavy like 3100 pounds or something like that if they lightned it up it would be faster

but yeah..RX8s are kinda over rated, but still sweet. my friends parents just got one and my boy was rolling it last night. he showed up to my house and i was like "you suck..."
I am dissapointed to say the least, that he did so well. Those things do 0-60 in 6. A Turbo neon is faster than an RX-8. I really don't think Mazda should have made it a lame *** 4 door, its so obvious those doors are there and makes the car look really strange.

maybe with a lot of weight reduction and some drags...170 to the wheels and weighing 3029 is going to be pretty hard.

No one on that site has recieved a 14...no one. So very sad
to spend that much money and get that terrible gas mileage and run that slow...well, not slow, but not fast for 29-34,000 bucks that they pay.

The RX-8 and S2000 handle very similarly. To put it simply, the RX-8 handles like a dream. Extremely predictable, and very taught suspension. Accelleration is average until you hit about 5k, then it just takes off to 9k. In most respects, it's like driving a non-convertible S2000 that's got more trunk space and a back seat.
The Evo handles very well, but just differently. Weight distribution is a factor, here. That, and if I remember correctly, the EVO VIII is front-biased. The STi handles excellent, as well. Turn-in is not what the EVO has, but the springrates on the factory suspension make up for it. I'd like to see my car have a little less body lean in hard cornering, but for a car with no added bracing, it has almost no body flex. The roll can be remedied with a Cusco Zero-2 system I'm eyeing.

No one should discount the RX-8. Give Mazda credit for a decent execution on an excellent idea. Were it not for the development of the RX-8 and its introduction to the US market, do any of you honestly believe Mazda would've had the ***** to announce the return of the RX-7?
RX8 is a low 15 high 14 car. I think with a good driver capable of mid 14's. From what I've heard they are very similar to a gt-s in acceleration. I have yet to see one at a track or run one on the street so it's just my .02!! nice kill though!
