Good Day At The Track - S2000 claims to have JR Supercharger but is just stock

Raced a Honda S2000 today and the driver claims to have the JR Supercharger. We talked about what I had in my CRX and told him I have a B16B JDM motor. Of course he has the F20C which is far superior to the B16B. But anyway I talked him into racing. I told him my chassis weighs 17-1800 lbs and that his chassis is around 2800 lbs. I checked his hood and saw no supercharger. I pretended to think he had a supercharger like he said he did. So now we were lined up and when the light turned green I had some massive wheelspin but I kept it under control. While he took off he didn't seem to spin out a lot. Probably due to the fact he had slicks. He got me off the line first to second gear. At second gear we were tied, third I passed him and my ETA 13.3, which is far better than I had done in the past. The Honda S2000 got a 13.6 probably due to his Hoosier slicks which were 245/45/R16.

My next mod will be to get higher lift or more aggressive cams which might improve performance a bit.

Yes 25 shot nitrous by NX. Yeah all that guy had in his s2000 was an intake, polished "aftermarket" header and a straight pipe, no cat but with muffler. What a nice way to ruin an s2000.....

yeah, too many people unfortunately buy the S2000 and can't drive it the way it's meant to be driven.

my 1989 crx dx b16b with 25 shot nitrous
reaction time: .639
60 ft 2.040
330 ft 5.749
1/8 8.778@82.251 mph
1/4 13.298@107.017 mph

2000 S2000 f20c next to me got:

reaction time: .602
60 ft 2.034
330 ft 5.746
1/8 8.786@82.101 mph
1/4 13.618@104.91 mph
sprayed the 25 shot like about after halfway before the finish
i'll run 12s sooner or later with a better rt.

(my camera f'ed so pics come eventually)

good day was running that time, but...
screw that... the funny thing about this was both of us were kicked off the track for not having a rollcage (yeah in an s2000), but i brought my own helmet. he didnt. anyway rollcages suck. wtf its going in a straight line!!

what tires you runnin cause I can't see you getting 12's without a bigger shot of nos or some kinda ugrade somewhere.

your r/t isnt that bad which doesnt count for ET anyways(for people who dont know that)

Your 60' is good cant see you hittin much lower maybe a high 1.9
but good luck chasin the 12's!!! thats one sick little crx!

i took off my 175/13s for this run and put on 225/50/15 bfg g force y rated tires, i cant really push a higher shot of nitrous since my compression ratio is almost 11:1, i might hurt something... i did try to take a pic of my timeslip but the fuggin camera is messed up somehow. the computer wont detect my usb port (uhh ohh!) the pic will be here sooner or later, plus maybe a dyno chart if i decide to take it for a run in tampa

took it for a top speed run. its probably 160 mph(speedo stops at 130) at 9000 rpms. i could be possibly going faster but i hear the rev limiter cutting in and out the fuel at that speed plus my coolant temp was going up. i seem to accelerate to 100 mph in like 12 sec, but braking sucks *** at that speed, damn old rear warped drums need to go

You mean in the corners?

Any way, good run.

Oh ya, DONT get rid of the Rear drums!!!! Especially if you're in to drag racing.

Reasion is, that the Rear Disc conversoins (on CRX's) weigh about 100+ lbs more then the Drums that are there. So I'd suggest reasearching in to some High temp Pads for the front and the same for the rear. If the Drum is warped, get new ones.
Got that little tidbit of info from a Former CSP national champion who raced a CRX. A lot of guys put the later CRX Si's Rear discs on the earlier CRX, and they ended up being slower because of it.

Yeah at the track I dont understand the 12 second rule on the roll cages.

The guys running 9's on crotch rockets only need a helmet, possibly skins, and we have to have a roll cage, when we have a seatbelt and a helmet, with a huge mass of metal surrounding us?
Edit- IOC, that huge mass of metal can crumple and crush us, a motorcycle can be jumped off of, but still not safe.

I agree with putting roll cage rules down, but for 11 seconds, not 12.

A lot of cars only need a little bit of modding to hit 12's. 11's are harder to come by, others are sub-12 sec right from the showroom.
