H22 T3/T4 or T4 turbo swap to 02 civic

ok, im fairly new to this site, have cash to burn and was seriously looking into having a H22 'cut' into the engine bay and either have a T3/T4 or just a nice size T4 mated to it. the japanese K20 was an idea, but im looking into the 500 hp range. i have a 2002 civic ex coupe. need some serious kick. any comments/ideas would be appreciated. rolling on 18's dual exhaust backseat gutted and replaced with fiberglass, full kaminari kit w/ ram air hood. you guys are the pros thats why i figured id ck up with you peeps.

i figure with the right price tag, the skys the limit, no? i hear about this 'water injection' something new that raises the bar with the amount of psi you can have in the turbo. obviously, extensive engine work needs to be done, inverted titanium pistons, cams, block possibly? and on an H22 its not that cheap. i have a mech from honda taking measurements to see if it would fit, then the crazy part of getting motor mounts for it, and i dont prefer aluminum foil and coat hangers, if you know what i mean. lol... even high 300's to 400's would be good. blow an M5 away or a vette..... think its crazy???? yes, but do-able with the right mech who knows what the hell hes doing..... any advice?

i'm guessing its not illegal in Jersey to have an older engine in a newer chasis.

still tho, i'd go for the k20 + cybernations turbo= sweet car.

Yeah, why go with an H22, when you can get a K20 w/turbo for much cheaper and less of a hassle..?

The k20 would fit for sure, plus I believe the engine is lighter, and still has a lot of potential. You have the cash to burn, so it's your choice.

K20 is lighter and dimensionally smaller than a B18... and clearly done right... can generate 500 HP. Refer to DC5@EM2's car.

Believe me....430 hp is enough? Did you ever drive a car with such a huge amount of hp???
I never did, but I did drive a 287 hp Z, and that was fast as hell for me. 430 hp in a 2600 pound car..... WoW.

also, the k20+cybernations setup wasn't fully built, if you get pistons, springs, and bore that **** another .2 mm, 500 hp can be reached easily, no?

How about just sell your car, and get a supra TT. (If you say you got the money)
You could easily reach 400 hp with basic mods.

500whp is a ton of power. You wont be having a good time driving around town. On a FWD car with that much kick you would break traction on a full throttle punch. Ask DC5@EM2...he can barely get traction on his car. Get a K20A2, put a stage 2 Cyber Nation Turbo on it, be at about 320whp and be happy with it. That can get you 12's if you can hook up your tires, or if you run slicks. Believe me that will make you happy, and that will put a big dip in your wallet too since you "have cash to burn"

jesus how absurd, just swap a k20 in and bolt on a 50 shot, and I think you should be happy. Its gonna haul. Everyone gets caught up in numbers, but 13s are pretty fast man. Like oh if 13s are cool 12s are even cooler. But it just gets to be a waste of money ultimately.

Whats the insurance on a supra agian? How many supras can you find that arent hold and beat to hell? I rest my case. BTW a decent supra is still going to cost 30,000 dollars.

Cuz he bought a turbo cuz he couldnt afford a swap and is trying to make himself feel better. Why else would you say something stupid like that? This year is the same as any others.

H22 is too heavy k series is the way to go ....i hear cybernations turbo kit is a good purchase owning a Si the K series may not have the kick of the Vtec but the i vtec is much more comfortable even at 140 i got hondata to thank for that top speed

If you were to build a custom intake for the H22A you might get it to fit in the 7th gen Civic. With the stock intake manifold you will find it difficult if not impossible to fit though.

You really should consider the K series. The engine is much lighter and the block is much stronger. The six speed tranny is stronger too.

the K20 JDM puts out 220 hp. think thats a better idea? what kind of engine mods are we talking for the 20-30 psi boost?? its water injected im assuming.... u think it would b good for driving everyday and with any weather condidtions? hot, cold, rain... etc. BTW i cracked 1 of my 18" concep neeper daggs and im PISSED... im hoping with the 5 lug conversion from the rsx that i could put 40 or 45 aspect tires instead of the 35's i had. i had 215 / 35 / 18x7's.

thanks every1 for your info...

cool box i guess, but wtf does it have to do with the topic, lol? seriously though, you should stop and think about what youre doing. even if you had 500 hp in a civic, you would NEVER get traction and still end up running a mid 12 second pass. its not about how much power you make, but how much power you successfully get to the ground. if you want a reliable, streetable, car that will run 12's, get the SF turbo with alcohol injection and build your engine. it will be much cheaper in the long run and will probably beat a 500hp 7th gen in a quarter mile pass. just my .02
