Think I'll Win?!?!
I've got a stock 03 Ex M/T; and three guys at school wanna race me already. There is an 88-91 CRX Dx with straight piping with an intake, a 97 Del Sol Si (125hp stock) with an intake, and a 99 Dx with straight piping with a muffler, short ram intake, and rumored to have a Stage 3 Clutch. I don't race too often yet because my car is stock, but do you think these guys have a chance?
The del sol might have an edge if he can drive it correctly and not make mistakes. Other than that, you should win the other two. The clutch will not help the car tooo much because of the almost non-existant mods on the car. Good luck with the races. Where are you planning on racing them?
i find it hard to believe someone in a dx with only intake and muffler would bother to upgrade his clutch. What does he think his stock clutch cant handle the extra 4 horse??!!

i think you may lose to all 3.. i think the one you should worry least about is the del sol... this is where i differ... i think this due to the del sols wieght.... just my opinion cause ive seen my buddy beat 02 ex's with his pretty much stock 99 dx a LOT... oh wait.. ones a 4th gen... you got him ALL DAY!!!! lol.. i had one .. SLOW..
Well they say "better say than sorry"
. So i'm gonna wait till in a couple of weeks, when I get some 2.25'' piping with an HKS Hi-Power Muffler. This will help my low end, because mine like most honda's out there, there isn't much power till that Vtec kicks in

and on my most disapointing race ever a dx civic - was swerving in and out of traffic -caught up to it at a light -slightly screached tires took him by a mile i would guess-stupid kid kept hitten the clutch with the gas down the hole race all i heard was screch vroom vrom screch vrom screch

um.... I don't know what kinda del sol you're talkin, but really the only del sol that would give you a problem is the DOHC B16 variation. the "other" more common sohc del sol had a funky gear ratio and they are actually pretty sluggish.
