'01 ex vs 02 4 cylinder eclipse

Last night i was hanging out with one of my friends, and we were driving by the school by my house when we see a mutal friend with his spec-v and a red 02 eclipse hard top. So we roll up and are just shootin the ****, and the kid in the spec is like "why dont u two run (me and eclipse)?" so after a little discussion about where we were gonna do this, we both agreed and were off to a straight away a couple blocks away. The spec v drove ahead, the road was clear, so i said on three honks we go. I launched at a little under 3.5rpms and it was murder from then on, by the end of second i had about two car lengths. The kid was really cool about it. I wanted to run the spec just to see how badly i'd be beat, but he said not tonight.

btw the eclipse was auto w/ tiptronic

nope, bone stock, putting serious consideration into a n20 kit though, but i need the funds first, and possibly the funds for clutch and flywheel. but i still wanna sell my car, so i dunno things are up in the air.

yea a mazdaspeed protege. i really dislike my civic, i've just had stupid problems with it, it drives like ****, my brakes go every 6000 miles or less, i cant really deal with this car anymore, but i still owe over 6,000 on it so i'm just stuck in a really shitty position

It was an auto Eclipse 4-cylinder against your 5-speed? He had no chance.

It's not that they're slow, it's that the car is too heavy.

It's heavy for it's HP, therefore it's slow

Nice kill!!

Not sure if the outcome would have been the same against the Spec-V though.

I basically had the same race just vs. a 6 cyliner GTS Auto. I drive a 5 spd dx with intake, exhaust. At the begening of the race I smoked her off the line. Then at about 85-90 she had me by about 3 car lengths, wasn't an *** whooping but god damn that thing pulls.

Yeah....i didn't wanna come right out n say it cuz people would think i'm a hater. LoL

But yeah i've seen them move...they're not too slow. Should be easy to beat on as low as a 35 shot though. I raced a friends integra on that much (35 shot) and I pulled on him. His teg puts down 160 to the wheel. And he takes the Spec-V's by at least 1 car length.
