my stock si keep up with my friends modded out v6 2.8 passat thats prob pretty heavy, he has an automatic transmission.. he put a body kit and two 12's his mods are:

17 inch rims
intake
exhaust

If i added an intake/exhaust/header could i beat him?

Depends on the year of the Passat ... in late 2002 all of the VR6's switched from 12v (180 hp) to 24v (200 hp). A stock 24v Passat should run about a 15.4 - 15.6 in the 1/4. With the mods you listed he should be around 15.2 or so if it is a 24 v ... a 12v would be about a 15.4 but these are all just estimates. Passats are the heaviest VW BTW but are built on an Audi chassis and are mechanically superior to most VW's ...
