Thumbs up Me VS 5 Speed Stang

Just got off work, stopped by a friends place. I pulled up and everyone wanted to hear my exhaust so instead I purged... they were all like, holy ****, do you really have nawz? I kinda laughed and said yeah. So this really fatass guy everyone calls Buddha wanted to go for a ride so I said sure. Then this other dude said he had a V6 Stang and wanted to run, so I said sure.

Heres the conditions: Me in a 5 speed EX spraying a 55 shot with one passenger who claimed to weigh in excess of 300 pounds. Him, V6 Mustang, 5 speed, mods unknown. One passenger weighing about 135.

First race, from about 45, I was in 3rd gear, kinda let him pass me then sprayed, pulled about 3 cars and shut it down around 80.

Second race, coming back the other way, I told him to pace me at 30, and Id go on him. He gunned it, so I flipped the switch and went. Passed him in the middle of third and put about 4 cars on him before I shut down at 100.

Third race, from a redlight. I launched way low at 3000 rpms. Had "Buddha" flip the switch when I hit second. The Mustang guy is a good driver, whored me off the line with the RWD, and put about 3 cars on me from the get go, I started spraying but could only get within about 2 cars before he shut down around 90.

Fourth race, from 35mph role. He kinda jumped the gun on me and put about 1.5 cars on me, I started spraying and slowly kept gaining on him before I finally was just able to edge him out around 105. He said his car shut down at 117 anyways.

So, in conclusion (summary for you lazy, non-reading bastards), me 3, Mustang 1. Without the nawz, I think its safe to say 5 speed Stangs own us. Havent raced an auto yet.

Awesome job man, sounds like tons of fun. My nephew has a 94' Civic LX with the basics, sri, stainless steel header, catback, and he says he rapes mustangs all the time. It feels like that sri gave him alot of power from 4k on and its awesome to drive with him and just listen to it. Im hopin to have the same thing. Im going to be gettin a little ebay sri, then a K&N filter on it(will probably cost more than the intake), cat back from testpipe.com and the header off of ebay probably. I cant wait to race some of my friends, in my little town of 1200 people nobody works on their cars, except this one guy with a old s10 pickup that has basic exhaust, cant wait to kill em. Anyway, nice kill.

yep its true, and a sugestion to 01wingswestCivic, spray at the top of first to not fall behind. You will see your redline really fast but make sure you dont redline ever! I use it in first and it saves time and gives me a first gear jump. Helps 60 time if you can hook up really well, that is how deception2k1 gets his 14's.

Good runs. Keep it cool and safe. Have you always run a 55 shot?

Hi, it's me again ... was this a new V6 Mustang? I'm just curious because the V6 stangs suck *** and I would think that with a 55 shot that you'd be able to take one. The older V6's are extremely slow, like mid 16's in the 1/4, but the new ones are in the high 15's. I'd think that you would run about a 15.3 or maybe a little quicker ...

its one of the newer ones, a 5 speed though... theyre quite a bit quicker than the autos. i would have whored an auto, he was actually a really good driver. theres a few 7th gens on here running 14s on 50 shots, ive never been to the track though so id probably run a bit higher.

i thought you had left the forum lol

Yeah, i'm still here ...

well, a good driver can make a crappy car quick ... I wish you would have beaten him, people who think non-V8 stangs are sports cars need to be taught a lesson. Send him my way ...

:edit: My statement seemed more directed toward you than the Stang driver ... your car isn't as crappy ...

540 for the kit, 110 for the purge kit and about 3.00 a pound to fill it up, so 3.00 x 10 pounds = about $30.00 to refill the tank. add about $55 an hour for labor on top of those costs if you dont know how to install it yourself
