Radio Code Retrieval - DONT use storesonline
Radio Code Retrieval - DONT use storesonline
I hooked up two 12's and a 450 watt amp to my factory deck, disconnected the battery cable, and of couse, my deck says "Code". So, I read the forums here on the site and found a radio code locator site at storesonline.com. They advertised they could give me the code for only $15 (compared to the dealers price of $80)! So, I went for it. The day after I ordered the code, I got an email saying the serial number I sent them off my factory deck didnt exist... so, I double checked - it WAS the right serial! I emailed their customer service and no reply yet after 2 days. Some service - steer clear of this one!

Yup, I bought my car used off eBay
Very satisfied with the car and I saved some $$$, but it didn't come with a manual (which I downloaded anyway) or radio code...
Do you just give the dealer your VIN or what? I hope they don't charge but I suspect they would Oh well...

The dealer that the car was originally purchased/serviced at should have the number on file in their computers. My dealer has it, whenver I bring my car in for service, it even prints out on the slip with my VIN and contact info.....

HAHAHAHHAHHAHAH i work at victory honda and we will give you the code if you give us your vin and sn off the radio they are all listed on the computer ($15 u must have alot of extra money)
The radio code also comes on a sticker that should be on the underside of your trunklid (assuming the first owner didn't remove it). It would be a little white sticker thats right beneath the sticker with the VIN number on it.
You can [somewhat] easily obtain your radio code from the service desk of any Honda dealership. Some of the earlier 7th gens didn't come with a card or a sticker, but some did. Most all [early '02 - on] should have 2 cards / stickers somewhere in or on the car. It can bee in the door jamb, under the lid of your trunk, or if you're really lucky, stuck to the back or side of your radio.
If yours is missing:
-Write down your vin#
-Write down the serial# from your radio (-if need be, tear your dash & center console apart to remove your radio or have Honda remove it for $70 - $100)
-Go to or call a Honda dealership service desk and they can look it up for you.
I needed my radio code to register on HONDA OWNER LINK , but I didn't have the code ANYWHERE. So I called a few dealerships - ANY dealer can look it up, but some won't. I live in NY and I called a dealer in California (NY Honda Service desks closed on Saturdays) 3 dealers wouldn't give it to me over the phone, but the fourth did, so just keep trying.
To remove your deck, you can use the DIY dealie on this site , but frankly, the NEW radio DIY sucks. Just start removing screws from the back of your center console and move forward. When you get to the radio bezel, push from the back and use a PLASTIC cooking spatula if you need to pry it up around the edges.
If your buying a used deck, just make sure it comes with the code. If you steal a deck and need the code, I hope you never get one, because then that means there's a fellow 7th gen. civic out there that has been violated.
