I want to warn people about buying mufflers online.
Bought a Bosal muffler with lifetime warrenty from the Parts Bin for my daughters Civic. It rusted off. I contacted The Partsbin.com and was told after 12 months contact Bosal. What kind of warranty is that ?
I had all the paper work they sent. one page.
I contacted Bosal. George in the warranty dept explained to note : Pay a little more locally than save a little online. I was supose to recieve a warrenty card to mail in along with $15.00.
George said if I would have bought locally I could just exchange.
AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts sell them. In fact they sell them online for comparable prices. Those you can return to the store.

I disagree. U can buy lots of good stuff online for the right price, u just need to be familiar with brands and do research b4 buying performance parts.

i had the same problem only i didn't buy from online sites. i went to a shop. so my exhust keeps snapping and i have to reweld every 6 months or so.

I do not know why you think I did not do my research.
In addition, I did not buy performance parts. I just wanted a muffler and
Bosal is a big name in aftermarket mufflers.

My 2nd muffler just had another weld break threw. Waiting for Bosal to return my messages. Last time it only cost $25. shipping to get it.

I will post what happens this time.

May 23rd 2011 update. Bosal gave me a 2nd FREE muffler under warranty. It cost $25 to ship. since the last two rusted through at the welds after about 16 months, I will expect the same thing after looking at the weld on this new one. Its like a monkey welded it. there is an actual gap. its welded about 340 degrees. I have photos but not the talent to post it.

I like the bosal warranty, it is lifetime. Remeber that the warranty is through Bosal not any store or website you buy from. Kind of a like getting a sony tv from bestbuy, after 30 days if something goes wrong you contact sony, not best buy, as the warranty is through sony, bestbuy only sells the product. Having said that, Bosal is pretty good at honoring their warranty and make things pretty painless.
