Slammed Into Curb...Bah!

Okay...

Small civic car...obviously low to ground (relatively low, anyways). I'm pulling into a parking spot and BAM...I guess I didn't realize how far I had pulled in...

Pretty upsetting since I'm so caring about my car and I take such good care of it... Could this have caused any damage? Anything I should check or be worried about?

Someone told me the bottom is covered with plastic near the front to prevent damage on small cars like that. They also told me that small cars like this are designed to prevent damage when things like that happen...

lease: Stupid me.

Comments/thoughts/ideas appreciated.

Shouldn't be anything to worry about, did it the pulling into Fazoli's right after I bought my car. It Sucked, thought I had broke something. You shouldn't have anything to worry about. Mine is fine it just scratched the underpinning.

Yeah...that's what I felt like...although mine is not brand new (I bought it recently).

I definately was upset

I don't think that I broke anything...just wanted to make sure. The bottom (not the bummer, but the stuff under that) is scratched up... Lots of plastic as far as I can see. I know I didn't go in terribly far, b/c I slammed on the brakes relatively quickly. Either which way, just wanted to make sure I didn't possibly cause some serious problems in the future

I did that once. The only damage was a scraped apart plastic clip that hold the rubber lip skirt on. Cost $2.50 to replace.

Yea ive done this plenty of times since the driveways around school are REALLY steep. Its hard to even roll in without bottoming out. It basically jsut scratches the hell out of the plastic areas under the bumper/engine. Not too bad except one of the clips was so scratched away that I couldnt get it out the other day when I replaced my grill so I had to cut it off. At least it wasn't high enough that it hit your bumper itself as opposed to going under the car. I hit a snow bank this winter and the ice did a number on the paint of the lower part of the bumper.
