I would leave it unless you plan on paying for a good paint job. I've seen way to many cars that have an awesome color on them and then the engine bay and doorjambs are the factory color.

the reseal will drop drastcally if you repaint it another color, you will never achieve a better than factory paint job because machines do it from the factory and they do it in climate controlled areas and things dont flaw as much if any. If you plan to resell it do an individual then paint away but if you want to take it to a delaership you will not get as much for it

YOu can easily get a better paint job then factory but it will cost you.

My dad owns an auto body shop in San Diego, a Full paint job there will cost +$5,000 and for that I can just about Guarantee that the paint job will be better then stock. How do you think Hot Rods, show cars and Classic restored cars have such nice paint? Bye going back to the factory for their paint?

The question is, Is just haveing a new color worth the 5000-10000 price tag?

depends how attached you are to your new color. all the considerations have been posted. if you are going to paint the whole thing you need to get a great job, none of this earl schieb krap.

if you wont be happy with original color on your body kit, then get your non-factory color. sounds like if you put 2500 into the paint, its going to look dam good. imho.

If your so worried about selling the car than don't bother with painting it. The more custom work you do to it, the harder it is going to be to find the right buyer for it.

IMO a $2500 paintjob won't be all that great. It'll be similar in quality to the factory job, which isn't very good. I believe it's a single-stage job from the factory. You can easily get something better than factory (Civic factory, anyways) for 4 grand or more.
