I was thinking of selling my 2k1 for about 16.5 17g's and getting a RSX premium....2002 models go for about 20 g;s canadian...plius all those damn taxes!
u guys think its worthwhile? and anyone know if the rsx is any good in the snow?

Heres the reason i won't trade in my car. if i get rid of my car for say 12g's (US) right there i lose 4g's from what i spent. Then i have to pay back my car, which i owe 10g's so i get 2g's back for a downpayment. And 2g's down on a RSX ain't ****, the payments would be like 540 bucks a month. So i think its more worth while to keep your car and make it as fast as a RSX. (and yes that is possible)
But thats just my opinion

What's and RSX Premium? Is that the Type S? I would only trade for the highest model RSX.
If you want the base model RSX I would get an EP.
But I might be biased *looks at sig*

I test drove the RSX Premium before I got my Eclipse ... Very nice car...do you finance or lease your car? If you can swing it w/o loosing to much money, go for it, the best thing about the RSX IMO is the interior .....

I am considering doing the same thing with my Civic but taking off all the stuff I put on then trade it in for a Type S. I have enough cash to pay for it in full now but I can't make up my mind.

anyway... i was thinking about doin the same thing (trading my vic for an RSX). but thought the costs were too high. i'd rather make my vic as fast (or faster) than the RSX. it would catch a lot of peoples attention. but, of course, that's IMO.

A base RSX runs for approximately $20,000. The Type S, $23.3k.
Why buy an RSX with 160HP for $20,000 when you can get a Mazda6i with more displacement, same HP #s and starts at $18.5k?
Why buy an RSX-S with 200HP for $23k when you can get the 6s with 220HP that's still about $2,000 less? $1,000 more than the RSX!
The Celica GT-S 6-speed is about $2k cheaper, comes with a lil' less crank HP but is lighter and ends up being just as fast as the Type S. Again, $1,000 more than a slow RSX.
Nowadays you can get an Eclipse GT for a better price than a Type S and the GT stock vs stock is faster. And to think, the GT used to be the "price gouger" (GTS, maybe) but the RSX-S wins.
GTI VR6 is cheapAr and more mod friendly than an Type S.
And for $1,000 more than a Type S, you can have the beauty of AWD and turbo in an Impreza WRX.
Why buy an RSX or RSX-S for those prices when you can get the fastest production FWD car ever that starts at 19k? Yes, that damn SRT-4.
Just to name a few.
Oh, and I like this, too:

I don’t get it.
Why would anyone buy an RSX? I mean the base 5spd, which is slower then a mini-me new Si, as well as being more expensive isn’t a bargain to start, but the RSX-S is price gouging at its finest!
Just over $24K gets you the FWD 200 BHP, open differentialed Acura. For as much or less, you have the SRT-4, WRX, Miata, Mazda Speed Protoge, Mustang GT… the list goes on (and that’s not even getting into the used market with Ellis Juans and what not). All of which, would not only be better out of the box for the reason in which you bought it (be it for drag racing, taking on twizties, modifying for big power, hauling groceries or what have you) but be as easy of not eaiser and cheaper to modify.
One could argue that insurance is a factor, but as a previous post confirmed, the RSX-S isn’t exactly cheaper to insure then most other cars... even a C5 Vette in his case.
What does that leave us with? Well there is always the buyer who just falls in love with the way a car works, or the guy who got the odd deal on pricing and walked away with it far below sticker for whatever reason. But that’s a small % of people interested in the performance aspect, at least in the overall scheme of things. And after those people are dealt with? Honda fan-boys and the misinformed (usually one and the same) remain. These people will buy the car JUST because it’s the latest iteration of the GSR, or JUST because it’s got the latest and greatest VTEC version 2.1. Which is sad and pathetic in and of it self.
Any way you look at it, Honda dropped the ball on both the performance and pricing aspects.
Oh and don’t even get me started on the RSX-S with the “sports package”. The US market gets this instead of the type r. It consists of slotted (note, not bigger) brakes, type R rims/tires, Type R body kit and wing, ITR suspension (or most of it)… and THAT’S IT. All for just 29,000 and change! WRX STi and 350Z track edition look out!
[/end rant]

Not, "You shouldn't buy the RSX because it's overpriced." In my opinion, I don't think it's worth it and I displayed how I thought it wasn't.
It's not saying, "spend your money on something else you might not like that costs less and performs better."
