Finally!
This is the last photochop I'll ever have to do for rims... (because I've looked at every single rim being made)
After about 5 months, this is the last of 18 different rims that I have chopped onto my car trying to find "the ones". Several false alarms have occured along the way.... no 4x100, way too expensive, etc... that have pissed me off and sent me back to the drawing board. So here we go. I KNOW I can get these, and I know approximately how much they are. I'm pricing them now trying to find the cheapest, then of course comes the fun in which tires to wrap them up with. But it's over. Now I just have to explain to my parents why they're necessary (they aren't, but I want them and it's my money, and they don't understand the whole car modding thing, which makes explaining damn near impossible).
So here is the winner...

Volk CE28N, 16x7 +42 offset... 10.8 lbs.
FYI: The real ones will be Titanium Silver (I couldn't find a 4 lug silver to chop).
Why 16? Because 17's look to big (in my opinion they do), lighter is better and as much as fast and Civic don't really go in the same sentence, I'd like to go as fast as 127 HP can move me, So having only 30 lbs (a 205/50 or 205/55 tire is about 20 lbs) bolted onto each hub will make a difference. Hopefully I can get them ordered in the next week or 2.
PS: If anyone knows where I can get them for less than $335 a piece.... tell me, cuz I wanna know.

was never to fond of 16's.... i say if your going to spend that much on rims, might as well make them look better by getting 17's or 18's...

What about these? Velox VX-6R Gunmetal 17x7.0. They weigh 16.5lbs

I sure wish my car was newer

I think the look good. But honestly, I don't think they look $335/each type good. Just buy one of the twenty other similiar rims and save the money, but that's just my opinion. I think you'd be happier with $200/each rims and the extra money either in your pocket or into another mod. But if those are the rims you want, that's awesome. Just don't hit any of us up for money. Man, if I was one of your parents, I'd say that's too much money, too.

Alright.... time to bust out the math....
Moment of inertia =.5 MR^2 (Cylinder inertia)
16" CE28N rim= .5(10.8/32.2)*.6666^2= .07438
17" VX6R = .5(16.5/32.2)*.75^2=.1441
DOUBLE THE INERTIA
You'll get about the same difference for the tires. That just causes more of the engine's power to be wasted turning the rims rather than putting it on the ground.
Rather than taking a whole bunch of power (and we all know there's SO much of it available) and trying to move 17's I'd rather be off and running on 16's.
Lets talk unsprung weight... 16's with tires are gonna run about 31 lbs. 17's with tires (even light ones are gonna run about 39-40 a piece. Now account for the fact that the weight is not supported by the suspension and multiply by 4 in the front and 2 in the back.
So 124 lbs with 16's acts like 372 while 160 lbs worth of 17's acts like 480. Effectively 108 lbs difference. What is the old theory? 100 lbs = .1 sec? Case dismissed....
As for the money? Maybe I just don't care... or maybe I'm filthy rich (ok, I'm not, no college kid is), or maybe, just maybe I busted my *** working and saved money for 6 months because I wanted to get the good s**t and not less expensive copies of the good s**t. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Insanity is defined by different people in different ways... you all think I'm insane right now because I chose rims that you say are "too small" and too expensive because I could get 2 sets of cheap ones for the same price. Perhaps you're jealous, I dunno, but whatever.
You think 1400 for forged rims is expensive... how much did all of you pay for those heavy body kits??? About the same amount right? So we're looking at 2 opposite trains of thought right now..... Show vs. Go, so shift over to the go side and you'll see where I'm coming from. And don't give me the "Its a Civic" crap, I'm working with what I've got.

Yea, whatever you say man........but those rims are ugly $hit. I would rather lose to you in a race and have better looking rims. If you want a nice light rim......why not Spoon?

Those are ugly huh???
A couple people seem to disagree with you there....

Photoshopping doesn't do them justice.
Spoonies are flat black.... That isn't gonna work. That and they're about $500.
Well, anyways I'm done messing around... It's time to go to sleep. I'm done.

Ok... so when in doubt about what the heck to do.... go find your favorite car guru and see what they have to say. So I did. Anyone who can build a car that runs 11's deserves to be heard. So I called my buddy with the 11 second car (It's a 91 Firebird, 406 Chevy SB), and we talked about the wheels and a bunch of other things for a good long while and came up with a few things that I kind of looked over.
1. Plan on track wheels getting trashed. One slip or screw up and you might find yourself off the pavement... no sense destroying good ones if you don't have cash on tap to replace them.
2. Bigger wheels look good everywhere else but the track. Thus weighing driving to racing time.... get the nice big ones.
3. Drivetrain losses are much larger than losses due to wheels.... no real need to bitch there unless you're really on the clock.
So those were the 3 main ones... there were a few more pros and cons we went over, but no need to waste the time typing it all out.
Now, Even if I could get CE28Ns in 17" (which I can't in 4x100), they're about $450, which breaks the bank).
Now, I like openess in the wheels (I have every intention of filling them with brake rotor), so I went rim hunting again....

I may be able to find some others, but those are what I'm thinkin' right now. And for the time being... just race on my Si rims with better tires.
