K20A Type R swap is now complete!
Ok, before i get to talking about the car. There is so many people i would like to thank on contributing to this swap. In no particular order:
Brian Gillespie from HAsport for the mounts, the wiring, basically being there for every question we had. Guys, you really have to give credit to this guy. The K20 swap wouldnt be even feasible on most levels without HAsport. Thanks again Brian!
Bob and Rich Stone from Motorcade Unlimited, They did this entire swap, everything from the brakes, the engine, fabricating hoses, basically anything you want done, they can do it. Also, they got this swap done in two weeks without any CEL's and or any other problems! You can reach them at 1-847-546-4022.
Chris Dye from Club RSX, he was a great help on knowledge, hooking me up on parts, etc.
Doug Macmillian from Hondata, he fixed the immobilizer system issues for our ecu. (Supposedly this can only be done on JDM ecu's because of the low software security on their ecu's)
J.C. from Hotchki's suspension, J.C. hooked me up with a set of sways and endlinks. These sways are great. When the Progress sways wouldnt fit and were becoming a nuisance, we went to Hotchki's, and their products were able to fit perfectly around everything we had to.
Tim from Ray Laks Honda/Acura. He helped with oem honda and acura parts information and parts resourcing
Nick from Massimo Performance. He hooked me up with the Konig Traffik Carbons and he's a good guy. For any of you WRX owners, hes the guy to go to for parts and what not. Massimo Performance
And finally the least important, , Greg from Hondawerx. Greg may have actually put as much or even MORE time in this swap as I have. Greg was the one who basically opened the doors to all of other sponsors. Without him, I'd seriously still have a d17 in my engine bay. He was always there when we had problems and such. He was really with looking up parts, part diagrams, writing emails to a whole bunch of different companies, basically any way he could help out, he did it even though he didnt always have the time to do s**t, he made time for everything. Thanks again Greg. And I bet Greg thought I was going to leave his punk a$$ out too.
Anyone who else that contributed to this swap, you know who you are.
Ok, now onto the car. In the simplest ways of explaining it. It just kicks a$$. Im really surprized on how the engine performs. It just pulls from like 5500 on to redline. Even before IVTEC, its still pulls pretty good. I opted to go with better parts on this car from the get go so the price is a lot higher than what most people expected. And for this reason, I really dont want to discuss price because its going to be way off if you only want to do the swap and plus for me to sit down and calculate out everything would take a while. Also, I got hooked up with good prices on most of my parts, and I dont want to make my sponsors feel uncomfortable about discussing on the prices that I got. Just for a good rule of thumb, be prepared to spend over 10k with labor, but anywhere down there if you plan on doing the labor yourself. Really on a mechanical level, this engine swap wasnt that difficult. Any decent mechanic should be able to pull this off. I believe the only difficult problem we came into was wiring different parts up. And yet, it was that bad either. Just kinda time consuming. All in all, I am very happy on doing this swap and I believe it was worth every cent I paid. I still yet to know how I want to tune this motor so thats where I stand on that end. Thats basically all I can think of at the moment. If anyone has any questions go right ahead and ask. Oh, and I almost forgot. You can find pics and info at the following link. Hondawerx Swap. If you got any questions for me go ahead and ask. If I cant get to them, Greg should be able to get to them. Thanks again everyone! Later.

Not yet on the dyno numbers. As soon as the winter lets up a little (mostly waiting for the snow and salt to get off the roads.) Ill take it for a couple of dyno runs. I dont drive the car at all in the snow and when the streets are still salty. Im really kinda **** about that. lol.

i've said it before, and i've had long drool sessions talkin with greg, but paul, you are truly the man. for those that don't know, this car really isn't even an EM2 anymore. just admit it man, it's a DC5 disguised by an EM2 frame. plain and simple. for those asking about price, how about re-reading his s**t and seeing that he prefers not to discuss it due to sponsorships and whatnot?
congrats, and enjoy the publicity that's surely on its way.

OH MY GOD.. I want.

I think the wheels sticking out a bit looks tuff. With side skirts and maybe rolled fenders to have them stick out a tad.. it would look bad ***. Great job bro DIY DIY DIY

Thanks for the kind words guys. And also, yeah its basically a DC5 within an EM2 body. But Im still gonna call it my EM2. Its not right to call it a rsx or integra/civic type r because it really isnt. And don't worry. No type r stickers or anything on this car. I think that would just be gay as hell to do that.

Congrats man, I know this must have been alot of work and effort but it looks like it paid off. It will be nice to see some numbers on this for sure.
Just one observation (sp?) ...... is it just me or does that engine look like it was always meant to be there ? ...... he he

That's sick, bro. Congrats. Wish I had the flow to do that.
But hey, am I the only person who can't find the pics?
I went to the link and all I can find are pics of the motor sitting on a crate...

First off I just want to say that swap looks pretty clean.
I know you are not done by any means but I couldn't help but notice you have an injen intake and an AEM license plate. I'm sure it was for the previous engine you had in there though

Oh and also, in the near future. I have a CF hood, CF trunk lid, and Greg is having Spoon Style CF lips made up that he is going to be selling exclusively for a while. If anyone wants to get info on those lips just contact Greg at Hondawerx@yahoo.com. So, at the very least the car should look pretty good too.
