From the shape of it, it's a backwards CAI for the Civic... so I guess it's for the S2k?
The S2k has a sweet sounding engine with the stock intake on there and the sound of the engine quite noticable... wonder how it'll sound with the intake. Mmmm... god I love the sound of that car.

The intake is made by a company called 4IG. They are same shape and design as AEM. 4IG is a company that is a sponsor of S2ki.com. I was able to purchase the intake under a group buy for a mere $120 bucks. It has been installed by many other members, sounds great, and members have dyno'd at around 7-8hp gains, with most power coming in the mid and high range. however, it increased low end torque around 9lb/ft if I remember correctly. It was a great design that the company put together.
(and yes, these are dynos from actual members, not just from the company)

At first, only single exhaust systems were getting horsepower gains, though even then, they were minimal. But now that the S2000 is out and there's quite a demand for aftermarket N/A modifications, the parts have become far more, and much better. The good dual exhausts now make as much power as the single exhausts.
with this particular setup I'm getting.... the CAI and exhaust will net me around 12hp at best case scenario. However, with the addition of the VAFC, I could see as much as another 20hp, with much more area under the curve. These gains would be representative of some of the setups other members are getting.
---------- for those who don't care, don't read on... i'm just spouting out info for those who wanna know
At first, the VAFC's were not doing well for the S2000. The reason for this is because the S2000 has an agressive ECU that adjusts for modifications. So the ECU wants to run around 14:1 stock air/fuel when in closed loop (closed loop means partial throttle). Under open throttle and high rpm conditions, the ECU changes to a different mapping for open loop (WOT) and the air/fuel turns a little richer to around 12.5-13.5:1. (this is good.. it prevents detonation)
So.... when you mod a car with bolt ons like intake/exhaust, this increases air flow, making the mixture leaner. The ECU sees this, learns, adapts, and automatically pushes more fuel into the system to adjust the mixture back toward stock levels. This is a GOOD thing, as it makes more power without detonation. However, when you use the VAFC to make the mixture a little leaner and increase power using an agressive air/fuel curve, the ECU would eventually "learn" this and counteract the VAFC. Bad thing.
However, we've since then discovered that the S2000's ECU learns ONLY during closed loop/partial throttle situations. So if we use the VAFC and raise the low/hi throttle crossover points for the VAFC, and then ONLY adjust the settings during Hi throttle/open loop only, the ECU will not learn this and will not counteract the settings.
I know, more info than anyone asked for, but hey, I'm bored, and maybe someone will appreciate learning these things.
