And now that you know things about cars, you know what. That Mustangs are faster than Civics. The MSRP for the 2003 Civic DX is $12,810, HX $13,710, LX $15,010, and EX $16,810. The MSRP for the 2003 base Mustang is $18,265, Conv. $23,965, GT Coupe $24,250, and Mach 1 $29,135. Don't know about you but I don't consider $6K to $12K close.

Really? Whens the last time you say a 30 year old Honda in cherry proime condition? I cant tell you the last time I saw a mustang like that, because it happens so often.[hr]
Check your spelling next time. Mustangs have been around since '63 and the Civic since '73 (and they were ugly till the mid '80's). Honda didn't even start making cars till '59.
You probably couldn't tell us the last time you saw a cherry Impala, Fairlane, GTO, Cuda, Cougar, Belair, Coronet, Corvair, or Nova either. All beauitiful cars but never made the impact the Mustang did, therefore not as many out there to be in prime condition. Pretty sure when I was in Germany for 6 yrs I didn't see many cherry Mustangs, though I did see a lot of cherry BMWs and Mercedes. For all of you that don't like the Civics, know one here is stopping you from getting a Mustang.

I would have gotten the base mustang which is a difference of 1455 dollars. That seems pretty close to me. I don't know too much about cars but I dont' think you can upgrade a civic ex to 193hp for 1455 dollars. I mean I do love my civic like its looks and etc. But the speed factor is what kills it. I hate merging on to highways because I can't get my car to 60mph fast enough. Anywayz, I just wish I had done some for research and weighed my options better.

I traded in my Mustang for a Civic. I had fun in that car and it never gave me any problems. I still love the 99-03 body style and sometimes i miss it. What i dont miss is the 20mpg it got with the same 1/4 mile time as the civic. You can see what mine looked like at the link below. I think i made the right choice though. I traded it in with 92000 miles on a 1999 and the only the thing that ever went wrong was a cracked spider gear in the rear end, so i put a new one in.

My wife on the other hand traded in her 1993 300zx (non turbo) for her civic. We had all kinds of problems with it. New radiator, fan, fan clutch, hoses, water pump, ect...... but she misses that car so much. she loves sports cars and we are leasing hers because it was the cheapest thing with the best warranty that she likes even a little bit. It all depends on the person I guess. If you dont like what you have, go get something else........if you cant afford it, or your mom wont let you.........make do with what you have and start saving your money.

True, can't get a Civic that fast for that price, but there are a lot of cars out there faster than the Civic in the same price range. Don't forget to add higher car insurance and more fuel stops into your equation. Also, everyone I've known with a V6 Mustang or V6 Firebird including myself would rather have had the V8 models ($24,250).

TOOLS, the reason for the comparison between the mustang and the civic only happened because this guy wants a MUSTANG instead of his CIVIC. No one said it was a fair match, none the less we are stuck with JUST THESE TWO CARS because that’s all there is to the original post.
Also, you all seem to be missing the point. People restore mustangs because it’s WORTH IT. its a "classic" car for a REASON. You think ALL the cars from 1965 are "classics" and get restored today? Not by a long shot. 20 Years from now, no one is going to be restoring a 1991 civic EX. 99% of the buyers, get it because it’s an affordable econo box. After it gets old they will move on to either a newer version or on to bigger and better things, depending. The other 1% bought it to modify. Why? Because it’s the "in" thing to modify now. That’s not going to last. 20 years from now there will be newer and faster cars with cooler gadgets and all sorts of what not now. THAT will become the "in" thing to modify and therefore, anyone still interested in that market will gravitate to those things, just as you all jumped on the civic after it got updated and changed.

You may lick my ***** now.

There was no way in hell my mom would have bought me a mustang anyways. She bought my sister a brand new 98 v-6 mustang (with appearance package which included the stripe and gt rims and spoiler) and that thing is a piece of ****. Right now, its barely starting. And after the all the problems we had with it, there was no way my mom would buy another one for me. Personally, I would rather have a civic. A civic is a better long term investment and since i will have this car till i graduate college i'm glad i have a honda.
Plus i think more people have mustangs than they do civics.
Theres only about 3 7th gen civics at my school and none are silver so.
But how many mustangs? Uncountable.
