Possibly, you need to recalculate your mpg. 48 appears unrealistic unless you operate a Honda motor scooter. lol

WTF...I maintain my car like no else. 5w20, air filter, blah blah...I used to get 48mpg on the highway and 38-42mpg around town. Lately I have gotten around 29mpg. This is my first Honda...and the only reason I bought it was for the MPG. Ug...
wut the hellz wrong with my car. i filled up about a week ago. and reset trip meter like usual. and i drive to about 200 miles and its on E!!.. gas light and all !!. so i goto fill up and it only fills up 8 gallons!. usually when the gas light comes on i fill up about 10-11 gallons of gas for a full tank.
so now that i fill it up as much as it can go, i get back in and start her up. next thing u know my gas guage is like 5 ticks away from being at the top FULL line. im like wtf is going on!?!.
no i have not messed with the gauges theyve been working fine since day 1. and been working fine since i put my reverse gauges in about 6 months ago. if it doesnt go away im forced to bring it to the dealer which will surely blame my reverse indiglos for the problem...

Bluestreak, I think you should check what kind of Civic PESTLNC has before you suggest that he start rechecking his math. He has a manual HX and highway mileage in the 40s for that kind of Civic is definitely reasonable. I have an HX CVT and my best highway mileage was 42 mpg. If anyone on these boards can consistently get over 40 mpg on the highway it's PESTLNC. Didn't mean to pick on you, Bluestreak. Just trying to inform you and the other non-believers (bobbyd, n00dleboy, and AzNmiKex215) about the capabilities of the HX (especially the manual version).
By the way, PESTLNC, sorry to hear about your dip in gas mileage. My gas mileage dips a lot in the winter. In the summer I average 34-36 and in the winter I average 30-32 (mostly all city driving).
believe me man, i'm not flaming you, but i think you should check your math, there's absolutely NO way you can get that gas mileage, I've had my car for 2 years 3 months, and i've done everything i can to get higher mileage, it was never mid forties, never mind 46.........and my motor is bone stock
