I finaly bought my clutch and flywheel
I finaly broke down and replalced my slipping clutch w/ a nice one from ACT it supposed to be the best street clutch they sell. Supposedly it has twice the holding power of the stock one and still has smooth engagement. I also bout an xACT 8.4 pound flywheel I figured why spend the money to have my flywheel re-surfaced when I could just buy a nice one for a liitle more. Ill post pics of the products when the arive and give a report after there installed.

Are you gonna DIY the install? Please let us know how it goes and how much better your performance is.
How much and where did you get the parts from?

Which clutch did you buy? Did you get the "SS - ACT Performance Organic Street Disc"?
What about the pressure plate? Did you get one? Whch one?
HD - ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
XT - ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate
XX - ACT MaXX Xtreme Pressure Plate
Why did you buy the lighter flywheel? They have a slightly heavier one too...
Sounds good though dude!

I think those kits come with the pressure plate, so you might as well use it! I thought that would be the whole point of getting a new clutch... this is what it says at options auto:
"Advanced Clutch Technology Clutch Kit for Honda Civic 92-01 SOHC and Del Sol 93-95 SOHC 212MM (Complete Kit comes with xtreme pressure plate, organic street disc, release bearing, pilot bearing & alignment tool). This clutch offers 270LBS of Torque."
Good choice of place to order!

great I think you answered your own question... you can choose if you want the heavy duty, extreme or maxx extreme... so why would you keep your stock pressure plate then? Maybe I don't understand your question, but isnt the pressure plate make up most of the clutch? I mean if you bought the kit, and picked which kind of plate you wanted then why keep the stock plate?

The pressure plate and the clutch are two different things. As far as I know you can buy them independantly. RiceBuRNeR said he bought the clutch, but he didn't mention anything about a pressure plate. Although $400 for just the clutch is kinda steep, so I think he did get a replacement pressure plate. I would just like to know which one he got. There are three kinds.

I've only seen kits, goto www.optauto.com, go to the transmission sections, put in your car and look through... you'll see the kits that fit our cars on page 3 and there is one kit that cost 401.00 so that is probably the kit he bought. I'm gunna probbaly get the clutch kit and flywheel as soon as I get my tein's put on this weekend.
