Question bout 1/4 Times...

Hey does anyone know the 1/4 times and 0-60 for the 03 civics? well I guess the 01-03 are all same so basically whats the stock times on those...and I was wondering if you guys could tell me some of your times perhaps stock then with ur mods that u might have...B.c. I live next door to this guy who has a RSX-S Turbo! and well i know ill never catch one of those, he runs like mid-high 13's and well I was wondering what it might take for the new gens to even keep up with a GSR or Type R..any suggestions without turbo? Thanx...I know how the motors work basically b.c. i used to have 00 SI and ran high 13's all motor so I dont know how much hp i can gain with these new ones so let me know

I believe a stock EX runs ~16.9. I can also tell you that the D17 engines do not respond well to modifications. With I/H/E, you're not gonna see much hp, so its basically for show - just to say "I've done X to my car." You're not gonna hit 13s with this Civic without an engine swap among other things.

try running lean and your mods will respond slightly better. i will try this out when i get hte money for the SAFC.. i've run 16.2 in lx 5-speed, but i've seen much faster times in the civics ranging from 15.7 to 18...depends on the driver and the day. these times are not to be proud of but thats what i've seen with lightly modded 7thgens.

our engines have a decent amont of power to unlock (with some money) the D17 "breathes" like **** so a port and polish, regrinded cam, pulley, I/H/E, focuz manifold shaved to fit the D17, that should be pretty good. mabybe see low low 15's...correct me if my estimate is off.

I would have kept the 00 Si... that's waaaaaaaay better than this generation of the civics.

Upgrade your engine internals. Change the plastic intake manifold and get a high flow cat. Upgrade your ECU. The aftermarket aren't really saints when it comes to getting performance out this engine (whether it's forced induction or bolt ons) but it's still an engine... and making it more powerful can be done.

Engine swap is a possibility. If you have a spare $8,000 on you, get the K20A2. I've yet to see what that engine will do in a lighter chassis. The best time I heard a Type S get was a 14.9 stock... same as the best for an Integra GS-R... which is considerably ligher with a considerably less powerful engine.
