Yea, the tails were a DIY. It was a pain in the assss. I've done them 2 times......The 1st time I used that tail light spray.....It looked like crap, bubbled and stuff. So I had to mask it back off again.......then repaint w/ spray paint and TONS of clear cloat.........looks pretty sweet close up too.
I masked off the horseshoe pattern (they are stock).....I def. recomend it

Well, if you know how tint works, it's not mean to be exposed to rain and stuff. Its meant to go on the inside of the windows, not the outside. Spraying would probably be the best solution for this type of effect.

well, aside from the obvious that tint doesn't go on the outside, it goes on the inside....

You can't tint plastic. Tint wasn't designed for that application and it wont stick for crap. What DOES stick, will only chemically react with the plastic lens and then begin to "out-gas"... that is if you can keep it on long enough... it'd be scratched so bad in a week you'd pull it off...

the only people who pull stunts like that are actual tinters... we can afford to... we know how to shape film and have hundreds of feet of film to boot...to redo the job every week....

would be completely impractical to PAY someone to always be tinting the lenses.. unless you're made of money that is ~ and since this is a Civic forum... I highly doubt anyone here's made of money (no offense... we have an '01 coupe..)
