my friend bought this motor 2 years ago for his '00 coupe, and didnt have the proper computer for it, so he bought a y8. the motor sat in the garage for a year and a half-ish now and told me a while ago i could take it for 100, i thot about it, and passed on it. Then he called me a month ago and said 50 bucks and all the miscalanious crap and its mine or its going to the scrapper as he needed room for a car hoist in his shop.

geoff called me tuesday at 630 pm told me he jjust finished my cams and i said i would pick them up wednesday. i called him wednesday on my way there andi asked how much i owed him. i was expecting to pay what it says online plus tax, he told me he gave me a discount and to wait a second while he calculates the tax. so i went to the bank to grab that amount, and when i arrived he said he knocked the price down even more!!!!! geoff is a great guy! gave me a few stickers and some hats aswell, and wants me to stop by when i get the zc dropped in and have the cams all dialed in!

today i finished porting the bowls, blended the valve seat with the bowls and opened them up ever so slightly.
was gonna get a friend to help me with the guides and valve grinds but hes a little busy building a wicked h/f motor..dropped the head back off at the machine shop with the oversized valves for new exhaust guides/seals and and their "performance" valve grind. will be done tomorrow afternoon they say. $200 for valve grind 9 bucks a guide installed. so roughly another $300.

i ordered a water pump from honda parts unlimited, got a new ex. valve from thmotorsports, those should be here around the time my intake manifold gasket gets in.
the machine shop put shorter valve guides than the stock ones that were in there IIRC.
the valve seats look really nice, and they cleaned the valves, they look brand new! i'll take pictures and post soon!

heres some pictures of the head with valves, bowls and ports. when pulling a valve from both intake and exhaust, now i almost wish i had gotten new intake valve guides, even though they are in spec. the exhaust guides are so snug, and the machine shop cut them down nicely.
