nice man, looking good. Glad to see the D17 getting more love around here as of late. Will say, though, the hood loos weird to me without the trim piece, but it doesn't look like yours is drilled or has the recess for the hood trim piece

I see what you’re saying, but I think mostly the 01-03 have that trim piece for the hood.

I got my old strut bar on. I’m missing the spark plug wire cover because I forgot it on top of the manifold while I was checking the spark plugs and then started the car. It melted... sooo anyone got a spare one? It’s running and tuned at 12 psi right now. Maybe going up to 14. I gotta get it on a dyno asap.

I got a 10” Mishimoto Heavy Duty Fan to replace my Mishimoto Slim Fan. It’s a bit heavy, 5-6lbs, and thick but suppose to be 1600CFM and gives me a piece of mind. The slim fan I have is old.

If you have the space It would be interesting to test if two fans would work; like a cpu cooler for overclocking. One fan before the radio, one after.

Yea it’s interesting but I heard it just restricts the airflow to the other fan. Not sure the science behind it. I don’t have the space to try it.
And I need to buy a new rad now, I just poked a small hole on it by accident. It sucks. I cried a little bit.
I was thinking about running a half size one but I’ve been back and forth about it since I’m gonna drive this car a lot. I have read different opinions.

I have my gauges down at the lower center console, but I’m tired of looking down and now being able to have a charger. So I bought a gauge cluster.
Nothing special. It does the job. Fits nicely

@crazicardi Correct. With a boosted car since you've changed the amount of heat generated by the engine, the cooling system must be altered, and, since each build is unique and produces a different heat generating problem, each cooling system needs to be tailored to the car. Also space is an issue.
So if you're boosted low at 10psi a two core half radiator may be fine. But depending on brand/proportions, it may not be.
If you're boosted higher you may need a full radiator, you could try a 3 core half rad. Or in the experiment I proposed, a half rad. With two fans.
Consulting the coolant temperature sensor on multiple hot laps, on a hot day, as well as stationary cooling after these laps is necessary, to see if your cooling solution is working.

@mac25 Yea I’ve been thinking of getting a half rad but I get mixed opinion about it.
So I decided and I got a full size Koyo radiator with the racing fan I got. I’m gonna try this setup and see how well it works.
I’m still thinking about the two fans but I might need the other one because I’m deciding to put a/c back on. Making my own tucked lines.

I'm running a three core, half rad, yanaka (yokahoma... whatever that brand is). Its cooling fine so far (no boost), but after two years it's already leaking from the plastic drainplug/gasket (while operating). So I'm going to try a brass drain plug. Keep us posted on the cooling solution, I might change mine up.

@mac25 I was thinking about getting the Yonaka radiator. It looks good. The half rad comes with a shroud. I like those but never a big fan of the plastic drain plug.

Old and beat up radiator off.
While I’m waiting for the rad to arrive. I decided to change all the rotors and brakes. I completely forgot that I made my own swaybar endlinks.
Front and rear. I forgot where I ordered the pieces from. They are ball joint ends with high load ratings. I have driven with no problems even on fast turning.

Koyo Rad fits well and I haven’t tested it while driving. Only idling to prime and take out the air from it. It wouldn’t go pass 180 when it was idling. Gotta check it on driving conditions, specially on traffic
I realize I could’ve gotten a bigger fan so I will purchase a 12” one later on. I just used the oem fan shroud and fitted the fan there nicely. I could fit the 12” there better.

Help!! I’ve been having so much electrical problem.
Look, the passenger parking lights stay lit even when the key is off. It took out the headlights and fan.
It just happened when I got home and parked it. I was like WTF!!!!
I will open up the fender this week and see what’s going on. This picture is with the key off the ignition, everything is off except for those lights!!!!
My other problem is that The battery is not getting charged. I replaced the ground wires, new belt, tried 2 alternators and I purchased a new ELD to see if that will fix the problem. My last resort is the engine wire harness, maybe something is messed up with those 4 wires going the alternator.
I don’t know what to do anymore!!!

I think I figured it out. I tightened up the ground wire I made under the fender and it seems to be back to normal. I just gotta figure out the charging problem.
