Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
Appreciate it fellas, next big update will be the wheels sometime in March hopefully. Just took it to the body shop to get a new bumper painted. The old one took a little beating in the winter.
Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
I get my wheels tomorrow finally so these are probably the last pics with my XXR 521s.

My sister backed up into me. Lucky she paid to get it fixed right away. This is the before pic.

This is the after pic.
These are some pics from a local meet. I competed in a limbo contest.

Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
Nice! What wheels are you getting next?
Also, shame about the bumper scuff, but I'm glad you got it fixed right away.
And I've always been curious as to how you got your 99-00 Type-R lip to fit so perfectly. I heated and stretched mine like crazy but the corners of it still flare out in front of the wheels because it is too short overall. I like how your corners are nice and flush with the bumper.

Here are the new wheels (SSR Professor SP1 17x9.5 +18 and 17x10.5 +18)... got the fronts fitted perfectly and the rears I used a 25mm spacer (didn't like the extreme poke and camber) so I am dropping to a 15mm spacer and running less camber. The tranny gave out when I was test driving after the rims so its at the shop right now getting a new tranny. Hopefully have it back it two weeks to get it ready for a show. More pics coming within the month.

Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
That looks epic. Love those rims!
I'm always amazed that you guys can run cars this low and not have severe rubbing and chipping issues. I must be doing something wrong, haha

Thanks

Lmao!!
Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
Got my wheels on (SSR Professor SP1) finally and finished up the exterior with a oem HFP Honda lip. Finished up my interior with the Nardi steering wheel and nrg short hub with quick release. Getting a photo shoot done this weekend so better pics will be up soon. Wheels specs are 17x9.5+18 and 17x10.5+18.

Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
I have had two photo shoots done and this is the pictures from the second one. I am waiting for the other photographer to be done editing the pics he took so I can post the first shoot as well. I still have two more shoots to be done this coming week lol a lot of local photographers have been interested in shooting my car lately. Don't mind my sideskirt, I will probably get around to fixing it this weekend or next.

Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
Yea a big V in the middle lol... still. looks great but I can't see using it as a DD.
I guess I just don't understand getting the biggest wheels you can possibly squeeze in there, with smaller tires.. then camber it all so almost none of the tire touches the ground. Totally eliminating the purpose of the wider rims + tires lol... I'm all about performance and usability more so than stance. To me this is gone too far and is entering looking kinda silly
Sorry man, just my opinion, props for all the hard work though. Just another fad that will eventually be taboo down the road.

Thanks Mac appreciate it!
Thanks for the opinion Blue , I agree that the camber is a bit silly lol I need to get my fenders pulled just a bit so I can run more positive camber in the rear. Until my buddy gets his roller back I have to run more negative camber than I would like. The rear tires will last me a long while even with the amount of negative camber I have, the fronts usually won't and I replace them every 6-8 months. I went with stance over performance for my civic since I had no interest in building the d17. If anything I will k swap in the future (keep the stance and maybe bag the civic) but I am still undecided. I really want to get a e46 M3 soon and that will be my performance build.

Ahh fair enough.
If you did pull the fenders a bit and straightened those back wheels it would look better (in my eyes, I know you've achieved what most people want here lol)

Re: Dean Sanchez's Build Thread
In my opinion, it would looks perfect if your rear camber matched the camber on the front you have currently. That's be awesome. But you'd have to do some major hacking to the rear fenders to get enough clearance for that, haha.
I've decided after being slammed for only 3 weeks, I hate driving it, so I'm already raising mine back up and inch for a better ride

That's what I am after, hopefully I can get it done before a show coming up.
