Rjones' Thread
Ive been thinking about doing this for a while, its not really a build thread because i dont plan on doing anything major to the civic performance/styling wise...but i figured i make one. This will also be a space for me to ask small random questions i have so heads up.
I'll start with the modifications I've done so far.
Full leather interior, not swapped with rsx seats just reupholstered. I will try and get pictures up after it's cleaned
Rsx 19mm Rear sway with ES bushings

Installed a Kenwood Excelon X994 head unit, briefly swapped it out for a Pioneer Avic unit but missed the clarity of the Kenwood so i went back, Has ipod hookup and Bluetooth hands free calling/streaming.
Pioneer 6.5" all around with adapter plates in the rear deck for the 6x9 holes.
2 10" Rockford Fosgate subs with a 500 w. rms Fosgate amp.
A cheap (but surprisingly great) MB Quart amp to run the speakers with 50w rms to 4 channels.
Passport 9500i hardwired
Debadged "civic" and "ex" logos, also the dealer logo
Diskreet's custom sub trunk
led's all around
(11/1/12) Black out housing headlights
And others that i'm forgeting to mention.
Here are some pics from the recent amp install along with doing the custom trunk-
Started by using split seam tubing where ever i could to make it a cleaner install, inside this tube is the power and remote wires for the amps

Took out the center console to run the rca's down the center to cut down on interference (even if it may be negligible)

Coming out from under the carpet-

All the wires after they'd been run-

Hard to see but all the speaker wires run around the spare tire inside the tubing while the rcas run inside the wall carpet and the power runs on the other side-

Everything cleaned up and first amp in-

Where the other amp will be-

To redo the trunk floor board with new carpet etc. + all the time spent wiring the amp i'd say i spent easily 15 hours working on my car this weekend

Re: Rjones' Thread
It was actually done before i bought the car, its nice leather so I imagine it wasn't cheap, and it has it on front and rear seats along with the door panel inserts.
Re: Rjones' Thread
I wish i had leather in mine.
That carpet wiring seemes like a lot of work. I have my amp mounted on my back seat and all the wires run inside the seat material as i made tiny holes, and the wires to the battery and deck on the sides of the car just under the mats. Dont even notice them.
If i could redo one thing i regret not putting some dynamat on the back rear panels and door panels (especially rear panels) when i had them off while back. The rear panels are a major pain to get all apart and when i had the PDR guy doing PDR on my car, he literally took my entire back section apart even the seats.
This is when i should have sound deadened when i had the chance last summer. Kill two birds with one stone. Now its not worth paying the guy to take it all apart again. It took over an hour just to take apart and put together again.

It was alot of work but it's good to do things right the first time. And why would you pay someone to do that?? I literally took the entire back potion of the car off in 5-10 min...its very easy.

Re: Rjones' Thread
Decided to just unplug the tweeters for now, finished the install- it was great for 30 min. Until my sub amp started going into protect mode all the time. Since I have a warranty on the sub/amp combo I'll be replacing them. Looking at a fosgate amp and 2 JL audio 10's

Re: Rjones' Thread
HOw much do your subs way and whats the RMS on them and the amp? Are they new? Im surprised you dont have your trunk lid dynamated. The winters are brutal cause the ice and cold temps will eventually cause the stuff to loose its stickiness. Where you have your trunk open, i used to have some on the inner side edges where the lid sits when closed but i removed it cause they just got cumbersom and messy over time due to getting wet when it rains. It was one helluva time to get that stuff and the adhesive off, it took me like 1.5hrs.

Re: Rjones' Thread
Thank you mac!!
@civicnoobie The only amp i have in there right now is 200w rms. And you know dynamat doesn't sop rattles, it only lowers a panel's resonance frequency.
Now, Im looking at a new sub and amp combo. Im thinking of going for these-
Fosgate amp-

JL Audio Subs-
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...S210-WXv2.html
The fosgate amp puts out 100w more rms than the max rms of the subs, will this be a problem if the amp's gain is properly set? I just want clean good sounding bass, im done with the loudest on the block stage lol.

Re: Rjones' Thread
Well i bought some red center cap stickers, I've been working with a guy that has his own sticker press to port the stickers to the 04-05 fat fives. They still don't fit exactly right so there's some small mods to be done but heres what they look like now-
Still need to post the pics of the completed trunk when i get time and remember lol.
Im thinking about getting these- http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2005-HO...03de4b&vxp=mtr
Would the light output be about the same as stock?

Re: Rjones' Thread
Alright today I installed my black out housing headlights-

I used gearbox's DIY to aim them, I feel like they need adjustment left/right because of the hot spot in the center. Do they?

Re: Rjones' Thread
WOW! Those seats are nice! Whoever sewed that did an excellent job.
Hey Rjones, If I had a scan of that center cap without the sticker and the exact diameter, I could help you with the graphics. I made this one for my car. It took quite some time but it came out pretty good.
