Re: Rjones' Thread
Im making it sound more complicated than it its...its just a Y splitter. The factory plug goes into the one end and the other end is basically 2 factory plugs no splicing would be necessary if the harness wasnt crap haha did you install your HID kit?

If that's the case, I'm sure I'll have Morimoto bulbs as well. Hopefully they should be a direct fit to the DDM kit...

Re: Rjones' Thread
Installed the neuspeed X brace this morning, i dont know how anyone did this install on jack stands. The subframe bolts were so tight i had to get a 5 foot pole and a breaker bar lol. The front end feels MUCH tighter now, more noticeable than when i put on the rear sway imo. Definitely worth the 85 bucks i payed for it. If anyone else sees one online or craigslist definitely pick it up. Now for the bad news. I hit a curb on the way home from installing it, everything seems fine, it still tracks straight and theres no vibrations in the wheel but now im afraid to push it too hard and really test it out. I looked underneath and nothing seems to be bent/broken but im prolly gonna take it to honda just to be sure. Pics of the X brace-

Re: Rjones' Thread
@max It reduces the chassis flex by transferring the force equally. It lets me make turns at way sharper angles without under steering. It also makes the steering much more immediate, feels like less play in the wheel, which is why i think i hit the curb.
@kenny i cant speak for the front strut bar but this reduces front end roll alot, definitely recommend.
If you notice front bolts go into the LCA mount, it think that's what makes it so effective.

That's what I noticed, goes into LCA.
Looks like it somewhat blocks the oil drain plug lol.
Like if there wasnt enough room there in the first place...

Re: Rjones' Thread
I actually checked that! It doesn't block the oil drain plug at all and the filter is still as accessible as it was before! (not very lol)

Re: Rjones' Thread
You should! and you have to wire the projector to the high beam plug so when the high beams are on the projectors drop an internal shutter and there essentially is no cutoff anymore

It was like 170-180 for the projectors, shrouds, and harnesses. And 50 for the HID kit so a little over 200 dollars

Re: Rjones' Thread
I don't have the harness...
Will I still be able to install my HID kit and projectors without an issue?
Like... will the HID lo-beams work and the halogen hi-beams take over?
At least until I get the proper wiring to make the shutters work...?

Re: Rjones' Thread
Well the first harness you can chose whether you want it or not. The stock wiring is not very robust and may not be able to support the load of igniting the ballasts for an extended period of time....to avoid any future problems i went with this relay harness- http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3182
On our cars the Lo's stay on when you turn on the hi's so yes if you left the halogen hi's plugged in you would be running the HID lo's and the halogen hi's at the same time.
For the high/low wiring you have a few options- 1.You can wire the high beam solenoids directly to the factory 9007 connector to enable bi-xenon function. 2. you can leave the hi beam alone and just leave the factory halogen hi's plugged in. 3. You can leave the halogen hi's plugged in and splice into the stock wiring to run both the bi-xenon solenoids and the halogen hi's or 4. buy the spliters and plug both the halogen hi's in and the bi-xenon solenoids.
I went with 4 because its the cleanest. Also TRS has a good reputation so im sure i just got a crappy batch of products because my solenoids are also sticking even though i bought the "updated projector with more push/pull to the solenoid" maybe its because im running the halogen hi's with the solenoids so the solenoid doesn't get as much power.

Re: Rjones' Thread
Small update on the X-brace. It's awesome. It made a greater improvement on handling than the rsx rear sway did and that's saying alot. Steering is immediate and no more flex in the chassis. I can corner much much sharper without under steering than i could before. I have yet to push it to it's absolute limit but i suspect the car will be very neutral. If you see one on here, craigslist or ebay, get it. Pay them whatever they want, it's that good lol.

Re: Rjones' Thread
Okay folks urgent update- One of my HIDs cut out about a week ago to the smell of an electrical fire, i turned them off immediately. I opened the hood and sure enough the DDM ballast was smoking. I turned them on later in a controlled environment to test what was happening. As soon as i switched the headlights on the DDM ballast got too hot to touch and began smoking while the other remained cool.
If you have ddm ballasts *cough* krudmuphin *cough*
learn from me and get rid of them before they burn your car to the ground
I ordered the morimoto 3five HID kit and it will be going in tommorow.

They can't seriously be that bad, can they?
Mine are going strong after nearly a month. They hardly even buzz loudly.
I've heard lots of reputable things about the DDM ballasts from friends and others on the forums, that's why I got them. Unforutnatley I don't have the money to blow right now on new ballasts, or the ability to explain to my parents that I screwed up my car again, haha, I already told them i was done modifying it for a while.

Re: Rjones' Thread
and back on the HID topic again...
On a scale of 1-10, How important would you say the relay harness is?
Is that something I should absolutely have in my setup? Or could I live without it?

Re: Rjones' Thread
Pictures from the sound deadening install last weekend, there is a bit of a petroleum smell but it seems like its fading as time goes on. The car is noticeably quieter now and all the rattles are gone. Did 2 layers on the floorboards, 3 around the rear wheel wells and 1 everywhere else
