I do agree that they are overplayed. But my favorite wheels are Regamaster Evos and Spoon SW388s, so that is is one of the reasons I bought these. Don't worry though, I ain't gonna fake the funk and throw some Regamaster decals on them lol.
These will do the job for the time being, until I get all my exterior parts and suspension done. Then I'll start saving for some real wheels.
And if all goes well, Koni/GCs should be in my possession within 2 months or so.

Rota Slips > TE37 and replicas.
I think they're popular because they simply look good and perform well.
And good choice with white!!!
That Accord is delicious!

Thanks. When my bother dipped his 5Zigen FN01R-Cs white that sealed the deal for me.
Here are a few better shots of his car. He's probably my biggest inspiration, and the one who taught me the "do it once, do it right" attitude.
He plans on starting to track the car next year and is starting to prep it. Its on Koni/GC with custom spring rates, Tanabe sway bars, 17x8 5Zigen FN01R-Cs (only 17lbs each) with 225/45 tires. He's starting to piece together his 4-piston Acural RL front brake upgrade, along with a rear disc conversion. Its got the stock Accord F22B2, and autotragic trans, but that will soon be swapped for a 5-speed from a Prelude (shorter gearing).

Well, as you know, I picked up a whole front end not too long ago. It was cheap, I wanted the Si lip, and I knew I could flip the stuff for a profit. I sold the hood, fenders, and headlights, and came out even. I still have the bumper and fogs, not sure if i want to sell or not. Regardless, my brother will be fixing it.
He started doing the Si lip last night......it's pretty rough, but for basically free, I'm not complaining. As you can see, its red white and blue to the core. LOL.
Here are pictures of all the blemishes. I'll post pictures of the completed repairs, as he fixes everything.
Its going to be a challenging process, but definitely a good learning experience. Stay tuned.

Well, got the fender's rolled, and dropped the car down to a respectable height. Don't mind the rear being a tad bit lower....I have a full tank of gas, plus my stock suspension and some other heavy stuff in the trunk at the moment. And of course its 105 degrees out today as we were doing everything.....

Soooooo.....picked this up today
Took 6 months of hounding my brother's friend to get him to sell it (used to own a Civic, he now owns an Accord). This thing is in great shape, was bought new and was only on the car for 6 months. Only a few scratches on the bottom, and it just needs a good polishing. This was my dream exhaust, and its awesome to finally get my hands on one. I was super close to buying a WS2, but now and glad I waited. Getting my piping in the next few weeks, and going to get the exhaust installed over Thanksgiving break.

Small Update:
Well, I installed my Ingalls rear camber kit yesterday, and got the car aligned again. No more -3.5° of camber in the rear lol.....the wheel fits so much better now. I'll also be throwing on an Ingalls anchor bolt kit for the fronts down the road.
And, I removed the plasti-dip off the wheels. I got tired of seeing the ugly gray white of it. And I actually like the black better than I thought. But I will be painting the wheels white over Thanksgiving break.

Well, got my mandrel bent piping in the mail today, and didn't have work, so I went with my brother to the exhaust shop and got everything all welded up =)
Very happy with the sound, its nice and deep, with no cabin drone at freeway speeds. Setup is 2.25in mandrel piping all the way back, with a Magnaflow 18" resonator, and the Mugen Twinloop exhaust. It hangs down a little low, but I plan on getting the Si rear lip down the road, so the extra clearance will be good then.
Sorry, the video quality kind of sucks, but you can still tell how nice it sounds.

Want your guys opinion.......
As you've seen, I'm rolling around on Rota Slipstreams. I'm currently in the process of repainting them white. Specs are 16x7 +40. However, I've kind of been wanting a set of real wheels, but don't want to break the bank. Was looking for 5Zigen FN01R-Cs (I'm a big fan of 5-spoke wheels), but there are no sets locally for sale.
I just came across these yesterday however......(Lenso) Axis VDPs. Specs are 16x7 +38, which is pretty much the same as my current wheels. They are pretty light at 6.5kg (14lbs). According to the guy, they have no curb rash or scratches. He wants $500 for them. I really like white wheels, but I think I could be happy with the silver. What do you think, should I pull the trigger on them?

Update time!
Decided to pass on the Axis wheels....now looking for a set of 16in 5Zigen FN01R-Cs.
But in the meantime, I rattlecanned my Si front lip, sideskirts, and Si rear replica lip black so I could throw them on the car. They don't match perfectly, but its good enough for now until I decide to repaint the car.
I also repainted the Slipstreams gloss white. So much better than the plasti-dip white.
And a few shots with my brother's Accord kind of showcasing Cali's not so Fall weather......

Thanks Golnat. The weather here is really optimal for owning a modded car.....no real winter mode needed.
Update time:
Finally got my Ingalls UCAs and GC top hats in. I had an issue with being shipped two right balljoints for the UCAs. Called up Ingalls and they sent me a left balljoint for free, and let me keep the extra right one. Great customer service! Was able to get the front aligned to -1 degrees of camber to match the rear.
Installing the GC top hats made a huge difference in the ride quality. At my ride height, I was previously only 1/2" from riding on the bumpstops in the rear. This made the car super bouncy on anything other than perfect roads. Now I have plenty of shock travel, and the GC progressive bump stops are so much nicer than the hard OEM ones.
In Feb, Cali actually had a weeklong stretch of rain......which lead to my area having a small bit of flooding, which in turn lead to me not seeing a 6in deep puddle........goodbye Si lip. I had previously repaired it, but the force of the impact pretty much broke everything I fixed. I decided it wasn't worth the time to fix again, and sold it to my friend. So I'm rolling around lip-less for now.
Also, my stock speakers took a crap so I decided it was time to redo the whole system. I listen to a lot of metal and hard rock, so I didn't get a sub on the recommendation of my brother's friend, who's a big audiophile. I will say though, for just speakers, this setup sure can bump pretty good.
For some time, I had wanted to step up my wheel game.....but I had a very specific wheel in mind. One day, as my brother was searching for Accord parts he happened on these. For the price I couldn't pass them up. 16x7 +42 5Zigen FN01R-Cs with all 4 center caps, and decent tires. Scored them for $350!
I sold the tires on the 5Zigens and put the money towards getting them powdercoated. I found a local powdercoater, who does a excellent job at a very fair price. When I picked my wheels up, I found out they actually do all the powdercoating for Varrstoen Wheels.
I ended up going with gloss white, since I'm a sucker for white on black. Yes, white wheels are a pain to clean, but at least with this coat I can just wide them down no problem. Also got some red Rays valve stems to match the lug nuts, and since I didn't want normal rubber ones. I'm still working on the center caps.....might be doing something a bit unique with them.
And as it turned out....in dismounting the tires from the Rotas, I found out one wheel had not 1, but 2 cracks
I never knew one wheel was cracked though, since the cracks never expanded to the point where the tire bead was.
That's it for now......I'll get some full pictures of the car in the next few days. As of right now, I'm just enjoying driving it. My only future mods will be a brand new OEM Si lip from Honda, and probably an ASR rear subframe brace paired with a 24mm sway bar. Although, since my brake pads are are getting low, and my rotors are somewhat grooved, I think I may also upgrade to an ITR front caliper setup. And if I happen on either an OEM Si grill or OEM Si rear lip, I may just jump on those. But for now, just enjoying the car and how it drives is the main goal.

I'm in SoCal. The place is called Nu-Tec Powdercoating. You have to Google them to get their number. Not man people know about it because they mostly do large accounts for companies (such as Varrstoen).

Welp, for the past week the car has been dead in the water. Had the oil light go on for literally a few seconds, then boom, rod knock. Took the car to our mechanic, and the bottom end is toast.
Currently looking around and deciding what I want to do.....trying to find a B16A2 for a decent price (good luck to me hahaha), or if I can find another D16Y8 for a good price, I'll just end up doing that.

^ I wish.
Had my eyes on a complete B16A2 swap (literally a full change over, had EVERYTHING), but the guy sold it an hour before I was supposed to pick it up. Ended up getting this gem instead......I was really lucky to find this. D16Y8 completely rebuilt.....all of the seals and gaskets were replaced, both the head and block were decked, along with the exterior bead blasted. Cylinders were honed, and the seals replaced. Pretty much a brand new engine. Comes with a warranty, and got it at a pretty good price.
Will get the old engine out on Monday, clean and de-grease the engine bay, and should have everything all back and running by Wednesday at the latest =)
