Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
yea, my advise is to leave you car the way it is. its already nice.
jsut clean it up and wax it.
then, get a retrofit...because that'll make ur car look good without scraficing too much $$$. plus its practical.

Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
will the wax remove the scratches i have also i have a couple issues
1. the gas barely makes it to 200 miles before i have to fill up from a full tank so im thinking theres a problem
2. everytime it rains, it starts to make this noise on the passenger side that likes when you have a flat tire but with the rain. is there a way to fix that!
3. how do i align my headlights cuz one is higher than the other

Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
If you can fell it with your finger nails it probably won't go away.
I think there is something wrong I get about 310-320 before I have to fill up and it never goes over 11gallons check spark plugs, air filter and your own driving habits since does are the easiest. Well maybe changing your driving habits won't.
There are two 10mm bolts for that on the head light housing the one on top is for up and down the one behind it is for left and right.
About the rain thing I don't know do you have your inner fender maybe you need a alignment and maybe that's one of the reason you have poor mpg don't know just speculating.
Edit: oh and your drivers light has to be lower that your passenger look around to find out were they should be.

speeddownzone = ok cool i will wax and wash once it gets warmer out, also i changed the oil filter two days ago to see if thats the issue, where do u check the spark plugs? someone told me to aim them at a white wall and measure 25 feet away and align them that way is that correct? i do have the inner fender but its under the car it has like a protective liner under it and thats loose when i took it to my mechanic he put a ziptide and said that would fix it but it didnt.

Its the air filter not oil and you honestly don't know were your spark plug are at. Try this https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...b-version.html and the air filter would be in that triangle looking thing behind the motor with about 8 or 10 phillips screws.
Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
Just give it a nice coat of wax. If you wanted to get lowering springs and struts, id install them for $50, another $50 id wax it and detail the engine. And the timing belt is due soon!
Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
speeddownzone= i changed the air filter and the old one looked brand new with a little bit of dust and thanks for the link im a noob

Rahway09 - Buy a service manual and learn to do basic maintenance procedures. Start buying the tools you need to work on the car yourself. Check the condition of your car to determine what may need fixing in the near future and how much it will cost you.
Learn to change engine and tranny oil, engine tune up, read spark plugs, check spark plug wires, change belts, compression check, Cv's, brakes, clutch if you have a manual tranny etc.
Beyond proper tune up, and driving easy, there is not much you can do to increase gas mileage enough to pay the cost of the modification. Most performance mods will only reduce gas mileage because they all come with the irresistible urge to mash on the gas peddle.

I think there are some available online, Clymer's or Haynes at the local auto store, maybe local library, or the most expensive is from the dealer. You can also search specific things on this forum.
Re: 2002 Civic Ex Sedan
I hope not the ones on your car now! I like those alot!
Duplicolor Wheel makes some good stuff, get the duplicolor wheel clear also
Its very easy ive done a few sets of tires.
But, remove the wheel, clean and lightly scuff up your wheel (those 3m green pads, or some 250 grit sand paper), after scuffing up use some wheel cleaner and clean the remaining dust and debris off.
Now take some thick tire gel and cover your entire sidewall (not the watery stuff!!)
Clean excess tire gel from rim (not the tire, but if you happened to get any on the rim in the process)
I usually do 4 thin coats of the paint (5-10 minutes apart evenly).
Then for the clear I usually do 2 thin coats (10 minutes apart), then one heavy final coat (again not enough to make the paint run), make sure all corners are painted evenly.
After letting dry for 30 mins to an hour take a old rag or towel and wipe off the side wall to remove the paint, if you have to use a screwdriver in a old sock to get close to the lip of the rim but try not to scratch your newly painted wheel!
It will come out like brand new if you can do it right!
