New 2001 Honda civic EX coupe
I'm new to civicforums, but I am about to buy a 2001 Honda Civic EX coupe, I want to get this car looking pretty nice and would really like to give it some real horsepower. So far i think I'll buy: 01-05 Honda Civic Blazer Body Kit, K&N Cold Air Intake - 57 Generation II - Direct OE replacement 01-05 Honda Civic or a Fujita Cold Air Intake - polished, Direct OE replacement, I can't decide which one i really want. Does anyone know which would give more horsepower? and an 01-05 Honda Civic - Magnaflow Exhaust system performance - rear, natural, stainless steel, And for rims I'm getting Enkei Tuning series SCO5. And after i get the ground effects put on i want to get the whole car painted a Deep Pearl Blue and get the windows tinted pretty dark. And I've also been looking at a VCN-400 microchip. I don't know that much about cars so could anyone suggest more things I could do to get the horsepower boosted more? I don't wanna get Nos, turbo, or a supercharger though. And the car is an Automatic if that changes anything. -Thanks

Re: New 2001 Honda civic EX coupe
welcome!
you won't get much horsepower w/ bolt on... honestly it's a waste of money.
you won't get power unless you turbo or swap.
if you want power without doing the any of the above, buy a different car.
btw, use the search button to avoid getting flamed. gl!

Pretty sure the 01 EX Coupe runs a d17a2 like my 03, if so unfortunately you're not going to get some real horsepower out of those bolt on mods unless you get it turbo'd. If you're really set on getting that it's cool, just don't expect too much out if, maybe 10 hp from all of that.
Honestly though man, if i were in your position I would use all of that money to get your car painted and such I'd just go with an si since it sounds like you wanna get more power than you probably will outta it. If not though, the intake and exhaust do sound sick though, and it will be a nice looking car(although not too sure about the body kit, I'm personally not really crazy about them and prefer lip kits).
I've got an '03 EX and did expect a bit more out of it and do kind of wish I ended up getting a manual, but I'm still happy with it, not trying to turn you off from buying it just throwing in my 2 cents
