How to derice a hatchback

Hi everyone. I'm Gostt, or Quentin, a French fan of Honda, especially Civic. First, excuse my english, i'll try to be as readable as possible ah ah.

So, here's my car, it cost 2500€, it's about 3600$...

When i get it, it was like that :

Yeah, i know, it's disgusting !

First of all, i put amber corners, and get out that horrible windshield band, and lexus of course.

------------------------------------------------------------------

After some weeks, bored to ride that piece of crap, i destroy all that shitty stuff with a friend.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the car as it looks today :

A lot of work still to do but i'll be proud of me i think ah ah

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Man that is WAY better, good job. Once it's painted it will look great, it already looks nice without all those damn ricey vents and mesh grills. What color are you thinking of going with?

Re: How to derice a hatchback

It will be blue, but i don't even know what blue.

Maybe a Subaru one, or EG6 original color like my bumper and fender.

There's a lot of modification coming, and already installed but not even taken in pix like the black eg6 interior.

I already got 16" wheels, but i need to buy 2 new tires.

There's also a Bride reclinable seat coming under 2 weeks.

In few weeks i'll buy a polished roll cage and in one month, i'll buy a Takata harness.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Looking good so far.

Whats your plans with it? Dont take this the wrong way, but I mean... do you really need a seat that costs 1/3 of the car, and a roll cage when you still have the stock motor? I'm guilty of doing mods in the wrong order and dont want you to run out of money before you have a chance to take care of what some of the more important things are to you (like maybe the exterior).

Anyways, goodluck with the ride. You have quite a project ahead of you, but it will be a fun process!

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Good work my friend! I always love to see the death of a ricer. Fortunately this one is being rehabilitated into something that looks good. That other Civic hatch it was parked next to looks pretty clean. Clean out that engine bay and put some worth while parts under that bonnet. I like a little go with my show. Also, Eternal Blue Pearl is a great Honda shade of blue.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Yeah, it's dumb to buy all that unuseless stuff before paint the car, but i'll get the seat for a ridicule price, so i took it.

For the roll cage, it's the same, it will not cost me a lot. Don't worry, i think the car will be paint fort april, if every thing done right.

Thank's to you all

Are you dumb? What exactly about what he is doing to it is rice? He took off that dumbass roof scoop, body kit and about 50 pounds of bondo. He's also swapping the 35 pound 18"s for some 16"s and has a Bride seat. Did you see the seats that were in it? Scroll up, that **** was super rice. Once he gets the body work done and painted, I bet it will be as clean as the other hatch it was parked next to.

He's wasting money putting fecking racing seats and a roll cage into a 99.9999% stock civic in desperate need of some body work and a good paint job. I mean sure, the parts are functional, but he will never ever ever need them - especially at this stage.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Hey hey hey, it's not necessary to fight.

Yeah, a Bride seat or a roll cage are things which i didn't need at this stage, but i get it because bride seats are rare as hell in france, same for the roll cage.

After all, spending my money in a dxi car, or even in a 92 old civic is a waste of money at all, but i like it, so i continue.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

Rice generally means things on the car that really don't belong there and are blown way out of proportion. Such as: Body kits, enormous spoilers, 6" dual exhaust on a stock 4 cylinder car. VTEC stickers on a car that has no VTEC. Wait, let me show you :

I can't believe this guy opted out of Altezzas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_burner

"The pejorative is often intended to denigrate cars which have been modified cosmetically to give a false impression of high performance, but not actually capable of it. The accusation behind this is that the car has been customized with the intent to fool people."

P.S. If that hatch had a turbo k20 I would definitely drive it (w/o the spoilers).

Re: How to derice a hatchback

^ LOL. Those spoilers are molded on, so is the body kit. Even with the k20 the exhaust is massive overkill. I'd drive it, after I took all the ridiculousness off of it.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that that car will never be de-riced. It's permanently scarred.

I'm surprised the hatch can still be opened.

Wow. I'm speechless, I can't believe someone would do that to their car. Especially a nice honda. Ok I get it now, thanks for the info guys haha. That car is just plain ridiculous!

Re: How to derice a hatchback

I just cannot fathom how somebody can do that to their car and think "now THAT looks good!"

And where the hell did the crooked license plate trend come from? It looks like ***.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

The crooked license plate derived from trucks. It looked cool at one time to mold the license plate crooked right into the tailgate. It looks ridiculous on trucks, it looks REALLY ridiculous on cars. Now that I have everyone (Almost) agreeing with me on how silly THAT looks. Just think of the money that guy has put into that car.

Re: How to derice a hatchback

don't get me wrong... that thing looks ridiculous i agree, i'm just saying the definition (according to wiki) of rice is "false impression of high performance" (like the people that put vtec stickers on non vtec hondas). There's not so much of a defined excuse for that wing... maybe boredom?
