Technically its still a Civic...
Technically its still a Civic...
Hey guys! new to the site... feeling a bit alone.... are there any other Civic del Sol owners here?
the name's Matt. I'm from Marina, CA. Monterey Bay area. I drive a 1994 Civic del Sol Si.
currently rockin a stock D16Z6, I've got a Jackson Racing supercharger waiting to be installed once the bottom end is freshened up a bit. So far just an AEM V2 intake and Tanabe Concept-G exhaust.
mostly suspension mods, its my autocross car.
function/form type II coilovers
Integra Type R front and rear sway bars
Integra Type R front and rear strut bars
ASR subframe brace
Omnipower rear LCAs
also a decent amount of JDM goodies such as the rare as hell lower foglights, and a Mugen-replica wing that me and some friends had made out of carbon fiber.
for now here's some pics, let me know what you all think!

Impressive interior. Most Del-Sol's I see in my area are falling apart, or have riced out color panels and dashes. Yours looks good and is very clean. It looks like the ash tray cover still functions too!

Thats a great looking del sol. Took me a minute to figure out while the wheel was in bus mode though. ROFL. Next time you wash your car hit the underside of that bumper. Then it will be perfect.

Love CRX's yours looks clean i really like it... One question though, doesn't the tow hook thing scrape on absolutely every drive way and speed bump you come across?
Re: Technically its still a Civic...
^^ its not a crx :/.. and the car doesnt look that slammed, im sure the tow hook is fine.
welcome to the site!

Re: Technically its still a Civic...
Thanks for the kind words everyone! Good to know that my work has paid off.
to answer a few questions:
the tow hook is fine. the car is lowered to have a 1 finger gap all around, the rear control arms are pretty much parallel to the ground. I usually scrape my exhaust first going over little peaks in driveways
it is technically a CR-X as well... i've got the EDM badging on it. CR-X del Sol VGi (same as an Si here in USA)
so yeah, currently doing some research as to how im going to build the bottom end, and what stuff to do to the head to handle the boost im throwing at it
and about the stereo... its a Pioneer DEH-P5900IB head unit. got Eclipse 6.5" up front and Alpine Type S 6.5" rears. no subs or amps or anything that would add extra weight. lol.

well, nothing really new. been working on my corolla a bit...
but hopefully within the month I'll have the missing pieces to put this bad boy on...

anyone here installed the SOHC supercharger? care to give me a list of stuff you may have used?
and does anyone know where I can get the oil for the blower?

one of the cleanest i've seen. friend of mine i work with has one too but it's his drag car...run's the 1/4 mile in low 12's...can't tell you exactly what all he has done to it cause i don't really see him that much since i work nights and he works days but i'm pretty sure its a b15, i know whatever it is it's turbo'd. gl with the sc
Re: Technically its still a Civic...
the tow hook is gone, sold it with the matching front that i never installed to a friend. it was cool for a while, but I dont touge as much anymore, so not planning on needing to be pulled out of a ditch anytime soon. lol.
thanks for the kind words everyone! I've spent a lot of time on this car, after I rolled my first one I decided to do this one up as much as I could to make up for the last one...
Been working on my AE86 a lot lately though
Re: Technically its still a Civic...
well seeing as how its the Civic forums... didn't think it would be appropriate, but if you insist!
this is my second GTS coupe. had one as my first car, before I knew anything about them, before Initial D got big here. paid 1000 bucks for it.
due to the hype from drifting and all... paid 2800 for this one.
day i got it:

as it sits now, with some mkII supras painted gunmetal (by me)

stock ride height is booboo!
lemme know what you think!

nice del sol! its hard to find a clean looking one... the ae86 is sick!!! my friend just got a trueno as a project car as well. he got it for around the same price with a 4age and dropped. but it needs much tlc b4 it can perform. we just did a rattle can panda paint job on it (was primered when we bought it)... I think i shed a tear when we were done.
