what kind of civic? if its a 7thgen the prices that were quoted above are a little low for the head and mounts.
the k20a2 head is generally around 800-900 +shipping
the mounts are 600+ from hasport
and the k20a2 tranny is 800-900 +shipping usually
i wouldnt know about install fees since i do my own work
there are also a lot of little things that add up to several hundred dollars. such as power steering pump, alternator, starter, shifter cables, throttle body, misc sensors, wire harness, o2 sensors, clutch, flywheel, bolts
for a k24 frank swap, look to spend around $4500-6000 unless you come across some outstanding deals...and thats minus labor costs for a shop

well if you are going to get a k24a2 your prices will jump significantly. the k24a2 longblocks are usually 2000-3000+ by themselves...but you wouldnt need to buy a k20a2 head since they are mostly the same. Unless someone is selling their own swap you will not find a complete k24 frank swap for sale. Yes k20a.org is the best place to find the parts

Hmm... will the K24a1 be the same as the k24a2 longblack? so if i do get the k24a2 i wouldn't need a k20a2 header then? interesting... hey sniperscout just wonderin how much was your frankensteing all together and each of the parts? if you don't mind me asking!

all in all mine was over 7k it should have been around 5500 though. ok the k24a1 will not be the same as the k24a2. if you start researching all your questions with the search function on k20a.org you will find your answers. This topic has been covered numerous times. When i did my swap I asked maybe two questions and found every other answer including a step by step how to on k20a. You are looking at a major project and you need to start doing some reading and searching now. I am not trying to be an ***

yea i beleive the best bet would to get a k20a2 complete swap for around 2500 and then buy a k24a1 block and then just swap the head to the k24..if anything does happen u can just go back to the other block..also have atlest 2000 set aside for side parts that sniperscout mentioned...my k20 swap was around 7000 with install and then i blew that and then i franked my motor so that cost me another 1200 with install.well good luck and yes search button does wonders

Yes the Hasport harness, you can also DIY and save yourself the $. There are quite a few things missing on the cost, I should have a thread somewhere of a break down on what I spent for my K20a2.

Re: Swap Question?
have you looked into the new(er) k24 engines? The newest accord has the k24z3 (correct me if im wrong) and it has ivtec and puts down like 190hp and from a junkyard its basically a brand new engine for the price of an older k20a2. Thoughts?

The newer engines are a complete PITA to swap, if it can even be done with that engine it would never be worth the effort and $. Plus last I checked (I have been out of the game for a bit) you can only get a reflash for the newer K-series engines

Unless you are into the "bling" K20a factor it is not worth the money. For the same price you could almost have a K20a2, IPS cams, ITR Final drive (I prefer the longer gearing of the a2, so I would skip this) and a quaife, which is 10x better than the K20a. Granted you would need K-pro and a tune which would set you back $1,600, but unless you want a 110mph speed limiter you need Kpro with the K20a.

I bought mine from a shop in Florida, it had less than 10k on the odometer I paid $3,900 shipped, this was back when the swaps were selling like "hot cakes". Look around on www.K20a.org you should be able to find some K20a2 motors in the $3,500 range. I would try to buy from reputable members only though. There are a couple of guys on there who get quite a few motors regularly. If you don't see any that you like on the for sale section, post up that you are looking for one, they will find you.
Don't forget all of the other things you will need in addtion to what you will get with the motor swap, by the time you are done you will be looking at 2-3K more in extras.
