My $30 VIS trunk
My $30 VIS trunk
I am an avid searcher on craigslist, I was on last night and spotted a listing for a Carbon fiber civic trunk, so I click it, it says make offer, rough. I call and the kid has no idea what year its for, says he go tit as a trade and was told it was a civic 2 door, so, The guy is about 30-40 minetes away, I tell him I can be there in half hour, I show up and see its for a 7th gen! I look at the back o fit, it says VIS on it, I say how much, he asks what Id giv e him, so, I pulle dou t30 bucks, claimed it was all I had, and loaded it up and headed home. Now, it was rought, very rough, I sanded it down at work and re-cleared it, the edges are kinda chippe dup, so, the plan is to recover it with a fresh sheet on CF and resin. If only I could find a 30 dollar OEM style CF hood!

I still have to align it and cut some holes to run the wiring and trunk release cables.

Lol, thanks guys, I thought bout paintig it, but, even though the car is white, I think ti would be way outta place. I may wrap it in CF when i do the trunk lid.
Re: My $30 VIS trunk
I put 400 on a DA then used Diamont clear, put 3 heavy wet coats on it, Im goign to block it down and spray it one more time to make it look really nice.
Re: My $30 VIS trunk
Another shot, full rear end of the car, next step, put on my '04 rear bumper and tails lights. Need to go lower!

Also, I shaved the emblems, looks a little better/

Re: My $30 VIS trunk
sweet find, bastard!
i, personally, would just paint it white and feel good knowing you're saving weight, even if the guy behind you on the highway doesn't know
