Re: Results from today's dyno
One time Andy and I were racing and we were side by side and it looked really fierce and I could see the fear in his eyes as I stared over at him.....
...and then the light turned green.

Re: Results from today's dyno
Its not a myth actually. If you run race gas here and there you'll probably be fine. The lead in the fuel can accumulate on the valve stem and cause it to stick. Its not very common but it can happen. I doubt it would have anything to do with a diaphragm. A lot of new wastegates are lead safe.

Waow Andy your car is a dream come true. I got a friend with an Acura TL Type S 08 and Acura TSX they go out to these race nights out in some factory area's. I've heard about a few hatch back civic's but this would be just a breath taker. The other guys would not even know what happend.
Amazing work bro, I wonder how it feels to drive that beats. Hope you get that extra 40-50whp that you want.

Lightweight > power windows
Yeah, it's a blast to drive. This turbo is ****ing loud as ****, I love it, lol.
New diaphragm and spring will be here Friday and I'm going to retune again on the 16th. Woot.

Re: Results from today's dyno
is it the 0.82 housing your using?
spool seems to be the same as your previous setup...
and i would love to know the amount of boost drop on that intercooler, judging by your post it looks pretty effecient!!!
GREAT numbers btw keep going up

Re: Results from today's dyno
PWR advertises a less than 2% pressure drop on their cores. It really is phenomenal and worth the cost.
More in regards to spool time, running the boost levels I'm at, a 7 psi wastegate spring isn't the most efficient part of my setup so I'm swapping it out with a 10 psi spring which should increase spool efficiency.
Re: Results from today's dyno
yeah i'v been hearing about those GT turbo's and thier kicks
is it true, that it builds boost faster between shifts? (comparing with the T3/T04e setup)
i can't wait till you redyno the bish with more boost!!! (and a bigger housing in the future
)

The TiAL F38 is the only wastegate with the option to choose the valve stem's protective coating. To keep the overall cost of the unit down, the choice of coating was left to the customer.
Lead Oxide which is present only when burning leaded fuels is corrosive to the Black coating on the Street valve's stem. Extended use of leaded fuel will cause performance problems and unreliable valve actuation.
The Silver coating on the Race valve stem is resistant to the corrosive effects of Lead Oxide. Similarly works well with unleaded fuel. The Racing valve is available for an additional charge.

Re: Results from today's dyno
I had a long discussion with Jeff about the leaded fuel and wastegate failure. It would have to be a car that had SERIOUSLY prolonged exposure to high octane leaded fuel. Not worried about it on mine.
Fuel pressure is at about 75 psi on 25 psi boost.
Sure the wastegate spring will have bearing when you're almost quadrupling the boost level. Boost control duty cycle does have an effect, of course, but you're trying to keep a 7 psi spring from compressing under 25 psi boost..... it isn't going to be as effective as a 10 psi spring will.

Running anything more than 60% (IMPO) on a wastegate allows for inconsistancy when higher boosting. I would have atleast had you run a 14 PSI spring, and even still that is not enough for my guidelines.
I did think about that duty over and above when you posted the 7 PSI spring. I was that's like 357% more.

Re: Results from today's dyno
Yeah, it's a fine line between traction and boost control. This mac valve is freaking awesome. It surprisingly holds boost very consistently, even on a 7 psi spring. I don't want to go bigger than 10, just for traction's sake. I figured this was a happy medium.

Re: Results from today's dyno
Yeah, you probably make a good 250whp or so on 10 PSI I would imagine.
Re: Results from today's dyno
ya and some still think on other sites that its not possible with a 7th gen. i bet he could get quite a bit more on pump gas if he PNP'd the head and put some water/meth injection on it.
