Hey this is my second real year but overall its my third year modding my civic. Somehow i've moved away from UGLY bodykits, big chrome wheels, m3 mirrors, altezza chrome tail lights (kinda?), leds, and stuff that just doesn't flow with a civic. Here's how my car was sitting last weekend. Don't worry I still have a ton of stuff to put on it

my smoked out tails

What do all of you guys think about the smoked tails. Most days i think they're totally awesome but others im not so sure. They are altezzas underneath but you really can't tell unless you look really really close up. Im thinkin about taking them off i got pulled over on saturday night because the cop said i didnt have any tail lights lol but he didnt even tell me that it was because it was too hard to see my tails. They seem to be fine so far. Do you guys think they help or hurt my ride or really make no diff? thanks

So here are my future mods for this year:

Install lip kit (wingswest rear, acura 1.7 EL OEM sides, tsunami front) Trust me this is one hell of a combination that you probably won't see anywhere else.

Re-clear cf hood and get sparco hoodpins to replace crappy rusted ones (sparco pins on order)

Yellow oem style fogs (just waiting to sell enough stickers to get my paypal up high enough to order a set off ebay**HINT HINT**)

New interior lots of options here. Acura EL leathers, RSX leathers or black or grey cloth, racing seats, black leather seat skins (the perforated ones with the H on them) Pm me if you have any of these.

Maybe some engine stuff

Fiberglass my trunk setup because it looks sick and i dont use my trunk anyways and im tired of my box sliding around like crazy.

I'm hoping to have my car in good enough shape to take to local and regional shows.

Please feel free to comment and give suggestions.

And the smoked tails look good dude, i smoked mine a week ago, but i did my stock ones. Seriously looks like i have NO taillights at all.

I'm planning to smoke the tail light. But i worry about getting tickets for that.

i got silver civic taillights tinted as well...i think it looks really good! but whenever theres a cop behind me i pull over until he gets in front of me lol...it illegal in ny and if i get pulled over for my taillight tints then im def getting a ticket for my tinted windows, and exhaust possibly my headlights as well. but idk i love em

i used pactra polycarbonate spray paint that i got at a hobby shop its for painting rc cars and stuff. It worked well. They need a respray in a few spots so im probs gonna get some regular clear and get black added to it and thrown in a spray and thats only gonna cost like 20.

I kinda agree with you, certain things do flow with certain cars.

So I got bored when I was reading this thread... I opened up one of the pictures in Photoshop to change the handles and mirrors to body color, and one thing led to another, and this is what I ended up with:



I just made up a "body kit" for lack of a better word. All I did was make the front fascia marginally taller and put an intercooler in there (Thanks Rufus, I stole from your thread) and made some sideskirts from scratch. I kinda liked how it ended up, so here.

this car has definitely come a long way. it looks like you are finding out what you truly like for your car and it is looking pretty good.

wow that pic did turn out really good. I'm getting the whole thing resprayed next year so i may get mirrors and door handles done then. For now they don't bug me that much. I kinda like having lots of black accents on the outside.

As for my car coming the long way you guys should have seen the first pics i ever posted. I had steelies and hubcaps, no drop, blackout headlights, m3mirrors and chrome altezzas. I love the way my car is turning out. Im hoping that i can have it in showable condition.

I think the door bump guards look pretty off on a coupe. Did they prevent any dents that you know of?

those are door bump guards? dude i have no idea wut they are. I have been trying to decide whether i wanna keep them or not for the last like 3 years but i dunno i dont think ive seen another 01 coupe with them. And on all the sites for older civics they say slim door trim pieces are mad jdm so im thinkin about keepin em. They don't stick out that much. They're kinda different i dont think they help or hurt my car so mite just keep em on till i get a paint job. Im kinda scared to see wuts under them. And about dents i have no idea i dont open my doors and hit stuff but some girl at my school opened the door of her car on my car and put a dent in my passenger side. I'm so pissed about that other than that i have no other big dents on my car.


And as for engine plans heres wut i want to do. Since im still a new driver i dont wanna rush into it cuz its askin for trouble but my big plan is to get a d17a2 with like 50000km on it and rip it apart and rebuild and do a buildup for boost. My final goal would be like 8.5psi and internals that can easily handle it and i'd like to be pushin over 200 but i dunno about that. I dont really wanna go over 10psi. I'm not really worried about it yet but thats wut i'd like to do. Kswap would be nice but so expensive and this car probs wont be my dailydriver for more than 4 more years after that shes my weekend project car.

i kind of agree that those black lips on my silver car did look out of place especially the rear one. Fortunately it is painted now and my front lip well its not painted yet but it will be soon. I'm actually going to throw the whole lip kit on today and then take off the front to get it painted in like a month. And of course the spoiler im surprised sl33py you're the first one to bring it up in this thread. People usually thats the first thing they hate about my car. For me its probably my favorite thing on my car. Ya i know its huge and weighs a ton but i like it so much and thats all that really matters and i think it looks a whoel lot better with the lip kit on. I honestly really really like it and i realize that its not jdm and its not overly clean but i think it just adds a bit of flare to my car and makes it stick out in just the right way. anyways thanks for all your comments. I'll post pics wen i get the lip kit on later today.

looks pretty good to me. I would suggest lowering the front more to where it's flushed with your fenderwell to set it off. That would look clean if you drop down the front more

I'd have to agree with you, maybe if it was painted one color instead of two tone, and with a skirt.

i dunno if u saw the new pics but i got a skirt now. and i dunno wut two tone you are refering to. My rear lip is two toned but it looks so amazing it looks like the bumper is 3 pieces bumper, skirt and diffuser. looks amazing. Its painted vdub black cuz thats wut my painter had. you can't really see it in the pics i posted i'll try and get another one up soon.

Also im thinkin about stickering my car mildly i know thats hardcore rice and i'll prolly get flamed for it but i always thought it looked kinda cool. I wanna do like the roll call up my doors like tein, jl audio, clarion, neuspeed, ...and other brands of stuff i have on my car and i'd do them in gunmetal same color as wheels. I think it mite look pretty cool.

It's not bad looking, but like you were saying, it's not everyones style. Personally, I think it tends to make the car more liable to be broken into, if you've got a list of all the worthwhile things inside the car.

I like the rear lip. So far it looks alright. Stickers are a bad idea, for one they make the car go faster, and two as unevolved said, it is advertising what to rip off of your ride.

i guess...i dunno i still like the look of em. They are just gonna be an experiment. its not like its going to be costing me anything and i prolly won't put the ones advertising my car audio. But like cmon if i have like motegi on my car or tein people can't really steal my coilovers and if they wanna ripoff wheels having the brand name isnt gonna change anything. I know that stickers don't make my car go faster i just think a clean unmarked side of my car is a bit boring sometimes. and besides once i get thru the sticker phase i'll have the joy of taking them off and the satisfaction of knowing my car is completely clean. I know you guys hate stickers but i'll try and keep it mild and as un-ugly as possible
