Re: megan or tein
well im pretty sure basics are way cheaper than megans. I wouldnt compare the megans and basics. The megans are more like tein ss. Tein ss are very very good coilovers. Great for just about anything. Dont get flex lol. They're too much to handle. And crazy expensive.

on my old 98 civic, i had skunk2 coilovers with kyb adjustables. and i daily drove on them. but i would never invest in them again...full coilovers are the way to go hands down...

Re: megan or tein
I got megans- been a bit of a hassle, but got them on recently and going for an alignment in a few hours- finally get to test them out!
I'm not worried about speed bumps anymore, rear end doesnt go flying, its amazing.

Re: megan or tein
ok so are you saying that coilovers ride way way better after an alignment. Please tell me that thats wut ur saying cuz mine are really rough but i havent had an alignment yet.
Re: megan or tein
and iv heard they are the best ways to go, my friend has tein basics on his civic and my brother in-law has GC/konis on his prelude and the friend with the civic wishes he went with the GC/koni set up, go that way its the best and you can get them for about 800-900 shipped.
theres a thread on honda-tech somewhere where they compaired a bunch of shocks including tein, koni and tokico. and koni came out on top, ill try and find it.
Re: megan or tein
yah thanks for all the input guys.. but hey find that link for me and let me seee. kus i dont want to waste anymore money on suspension. its either megan or the gc/konis setup. thankss
this is what im getting in a few months

Re: megan or tein
welll as for me I'm riding on megan full coilover with 32 way ajustable dampering with ball pillow mounts and to me I'm liking it been in pot hole left and right cause I live in hawaii and I had the teins and didn't like ride after couple months but hey use good judgements and fide out yourself .............
Re: megan or tein
my friend tracked his car on Megans for the first time, on the way back it started making funny noises. My tein basics were riding the same as before I got onto the track.
It shows the R&D teins put in their products. TEIN>megan. Plus Megans are @$$, so offense to anyone who owns them. My friends have gotten softer over the past year.
With tein you won't have problems or regrets. Don't go cheap on suspension.

Re: megan or tein
i agree that tein puts in more R&D, I have Tein Basics as well (originally had s.techs) and its been about a year now of 4 seasons, a little bit of autox here and there and they still feel like i had just put them in
Re: megan or tein
i got a set of tokico d-spec fully externally adjustables and eibach pro-kit springs. drives very very well and has great handling. i would perfer a little lower with my 18" and 215 tires... so id say get sportline springs from eibach instead to get the extra 1/2 inch more drop (2 inch total). did my whole install myself and cost me 600 in hardware and shipping.
Re: megan or tein
wow this is a hard decision. hahaha. um can u guys post some pics of how megan and tein sits..i want to see how low it looks. and how low it could get if possible guys. thanks.

Re: megan or tein
doesnt matter where you found them.. I said DIRECT from. meaning it was shipped from the lines to me. And be careful where you find them cause some of them may not be true Megans.

Re: megan or tein
I have tien flex and now that I have them properly set up. They ride absolutely amazing. With dampening at level 2 they ride nearly as smooth as stock (except over large cracks and bumps in road). Stiffen em up to 6ish and you're ready to carve some windy roads and hit up the track and set at 8 or 9 and you'll be havin the time of your life. At first i didnt like my flex but after an alignment and properly adjusting them they ride much better. The guy who owned them briefly before me knew nothing about them total n00b. He shortened the stroke on one of them instead of the actual shock height. That explains the uber $hit-ty ride that i had till today so a tape measure some wrenches and a lot of putting wheels on and off and i finally got it set up perfect. Let me tell you im a n00b and tein flex are definantly not for n00bs but if u get some and want some help let me know cuz i think i figured them out pretty damn well.
Re: megan or tein
it all depends on what purpose you are trying to pursue... if you plan to track then i would suggest getting the megan track series, but if you are looking into just a soft comfortable ride, get the tein basics. from personal experience, i believe tein basics are way too soft and bouncy. Like someone said before, tein flex are amazing coilovers and handle like a champ, i would pick the flex over the megans and flex, but get ready to burn a whole in your wallet. I don't believe megans are cheap ****, i have plenty of friends with megan track series coilovers who rip up the track at laguna seca and they say these are one of the best coilovers they have ever used.
