well i finally got around to blacking out my headlights about 2 or 3 weeks ago. i left the amber inserts out and liked the way they look. but........i just got a set of black tyc projectors from stmcivic but i havent installed them yet. my car goes in the body shop 2 mondays from now to get repaired from when that girl sideswiped my passenger side......you cant see any damage in these pics. well tell me what you think of these. ill install the black tyc's tomorrow and post them too, that way we can see which ones look the best. well here they are.

here are my freshly installed tyc's...im love them, they look great

well i like the tyc's better, what about you guys?

Re: pics of my newly blacked out headlights
you just use regular painters tape to tape off the sidemarkers, maybe use some PlasticX or some sort of plastic polish to bring life back to those headlights
Re: pics of my newly blacked out headlights
^^ that stuff is only temporary and sometimes doesnt even get the job done the right way.. if u want them back to life for good, take em to a body shop. i wish i had time n money to do that..
Re: pics of my newly blacked out headlights
thanks for the comments. it took me pretty much all day to do them. from start to finish. and i masked them off using that blue painters tape from walmart or somewhere like that. it took about an hour to an hour and a half to mask them off which sucked. what sucked the most though is trying to get as much of that factory tar sealant off as i could. i got most of it off though and resealed them. they dont leak a bit. as far as the yellowing goes id say a lot of it had to do with the fact that i took the pics in a light drizzle, but yeah they are starting to get hazed. i tried that plastx stuff from meguirs.........guys dont waste your money on this crap. it was useless. i got great results from the headlight polishing kit i got from advance auto parts. its the kind thats got the pads you put on a drill and wet the pad and let the drill do all the work. this worked very good. i was very pleased with it
Re: pics of my newly blacked out headlights
^^ thanks for the heads up..even though it was too late for me. i mean..the stuff worked..if u had sum serious hazing like i did. but as for making them look brand spanking new and super clear..no way. it got most of it off but im still not happy with the results..keep us updated when u get the tycs on!

Blacked out OEM headlights>aftermarket projectors
^^That's what i'd generally say....but those TYC's actually flow well with the rest of your car. Just get that front lip fixed tho!

they have a bluish cutoff. i really like them a lot. oh and somebody pointed out my front bumper.....yeah that happened that morning, i hit a freakin semi truck blowout!! that sucks soooooo bad and as low as my car is i got every bit of it. it felt like i hit a deer or something. any of u guys ever hit a blowout on the interstate? my car goes to the paint and body shop monday anyway for the sideswiped incident so i will probably just have them fix it while they got it there
