yea, i got my altezza grill painted for $35. just keep looking, and dont get desperate.
make sure you get only the outter rim of the grill color matched with the inner grill part black. i think having the whole thing green or white, etc. looks tacky.

couldn't you get a spray can of touch up paint from the dealership and just do a really nice spray job? i think H and A has the cans of paint too, and you can get the exact color. it's not like it's going to matter much because it's such a small area, and if you take the time to do it right it'll look fine.
and those prices you got quoted are outrageous. it's costing me 45 bucks to get my entire rear bumper cover sprayed.

wow that dealership is stroking you with out lube... i know of plenty of dealerships that will nistall non honda parts. in fact the dealership near me sells aftermarket parts as well.........
and $100 to paint the grille is outrageous but its probably because they dont have that color in their shop. any type of metallic paint for honda is around 40-60 just for a quart. if they dont have the color they have to buy a quart minimum. so that is why they are charging soo much

i say do the job yourself, its much more effective and you'll learn from it for future project that need little touch up paint... beside that, just keep looking around man, you should come across somebody that woudl do it much more cheaper than what those prices are... w/ the spray can of paint, just practice on a test subject until you get the hang of what your doing and from there, it should be easy man... good luck

i think imma buy this and Do It Myself Thanx for all the help guys.
Now if i bought this, would i have to buy like a clear coat protectant from like auto zone or something after i already apply a few coats of the base color?

yea almost forgot that... i think imma go over the whole thing with the primer, then the whole thing in green, then prime the middle part, and paint it black then with the extra black paint imma paint my calipers, and drums... hehe

Prime the whole thing all at once. It will save you some masking time. Just take your time with the rattle can and do light coats. If you're patient enough, I would wet sand with 800-1000 grit between each finish coat, that way it will come out smooth as silk.

Gotcha, missed the first part about the primer, paint, then primer again.
Rattle can jobs, being what they are, take some work to come out right. You've got to have a precise distance away from the part (different with almost every can) to get the correct amount of paint to lay down without running or creating the "orange peel" effect. A light wet sand (800-1000 grit) between completely dry finish coats (24 hours each) will make all the difference in the world on the finished job. What you save in money, you lose in time, but that's free anyway. Hope that helps.

Autozone, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, really where ever you want that carries sandpaper. Just keep it wet while you work - I dip mine in bucket and keep a fair amount of water on the thing I'm sanding. Let the grit do the work and don't press too hard while you're doing it.
