RetroFit help, ASAP!!! (projector)

Well, make this really quick and simple, i got some of my old headlights that i had, which were dual halo with a projector right? so i obviously dont have to on no more, i have my stock ones on, i took just the project part out and installed them in my stock headlights, i basicaly made a bigger hole on the like and put the projector in their and drilled it down, so a day ago i got HIDs but the projector is shining them all over the place...how can i straighten them out? oh and inside the projector theirs a lil piece of metal, does anyone know if that goes on top or on the bottom?????

Its hard to help if you dont have pics of a retrofit. BTW, the tyc projectors are made for halogen, not Xenon if you are getting weird output, which sounds like what is going on.

why in the world would you put halogen projectors in the stock housing? you need hid projector if you plan to use hid lamps. search ebay, there are all kinds there.

there are two types of projectors:
halogen based projector
HID based projector

halogen proejctor is made to use halogenbulbs...
hid projector is made to use OEM hid bulbs...

you can put "rebased" hid bulbs on the halogen projector but the out put isnt great cuz the projectors were never design to utalize the HID lighting (this is what you have)

hid projectors are TSX, s2000, E46, valeo...etc

not to sound like an ***, but it looks like you just pasted everything together without thinking it though first.

Honestly the best thing for you do now is buy a regular set of stock headlights and put them back on.

You can use your projector headlights and just put in a hid projector like a e55, e46, a4 or tsx projectors. Dont get the 350z projectors because they suck.

The e55 or e46 are probably the best bang for your buck and tsx or s2000 projectors are more premium end.

you can get used projectors here
HID Retrofit Parts Projectors Ballasts D2S Bulbs

honestly do your research first before you buy or drill anything. This will save you money in the futures. HIDS are a lot more complicated then a bulb you put in your lamp.

lhd=left hand drive
rhd=right hand drive
the cutoff from the projector will be backwards and blind traffic if you use rhd in the usa.

single xenon is just a lo beam only projector
bixenon projector has a solenoid that moves a shield or the housing so that it turns into a hi beam using the same xenon bulb. hi/lo

the only halogen projector that gives good results with hid is the valeo H7 with adapter plate.

i would just go with a single xenon, to keep it simple. Best would be a s2000 projector but there also one of the hardest to put in. tsx is probably second then a evo projector. Basically all the stanley projector are the better projectors out there.

I would recommend the ece e46 single xenon they sell on hidplanet for $99. they already modded the projector to give off a lot of color and a sharp cut off. it also small enough to the point where its almost a direct bolt on with projector head lights.

Read as much as you can on hidplanet. You can also click on my e46 retro thread i did on my old 7th gen as well to give you an idea.

ok, now this is just the projectors right.... like what all would you still have to buy in order to retor fit them into the tyc's?

ballast, harness, etc?

Yeah

harness, bulbs, projectors and ballasts.

theyre to make the projector look good if you put em in the stock reflector housings. if you just do tyc retro theres no need since the projector is already covered up. you dont want light escaping from the sides of the projector so it has to be blocked with shroud.
