Which Axle-Back Exhaust?

Okay, after reading pages of threads on exhausts I have come to the conclusion that there is not one exhaust everyone agrees upon. So, I have decided to post my own thread to see what input I will get...

So, here's what I am looking for...I have an 04 Civic Sedan EX (Auto) and just want to add some nice, clean, "deep" sound. I am not looking for any noticable HP gains b/c I know I need much more than just an exhaust and my K&N Drop-In Filter. I have narrowed it down to selecting some type of axle-back system versus the cat-back. Now, just which one...

Based on the threads I have read, here are the "top" choices:
- HKS Hi-Power //not really feeling the angled look but most seem to like this one
- Greddy EVO2
- APEXi WSII
- RSR
- Skunk2 //most do not recommend this one
- Other???

So, given my situation, which do you think would suit me better?

Thanks!!

why dont people recommend the skunk2? that exhaust is nothing but quality, i personally know the guy that does all the testing and R&D for skunk2 and all of their products are awesome

the real question isnt how much power your going to gain with which exhaust, its how LOUD do you want it to be

you've gotta be joking, their suspension department is sagging, literally.

On the EX, why not do everything from the cat converted back? Well, I guess if your just looking for sound, changing to an axel back muffler system would be the best bet for the buck.

But to be honest though, I dont have any experience with any of thoes exhaust systems. Although, I am throwing together my own exhaust system (LX TO EX w/ aftermarket cat back). I went with a twin cannister system by DC (DC-> TCS), sounds really nice (friend had it back in the day). But thats a discountinued model now (I got it 50% off brand new from the WH!), and its not on your list, so blahhh. But i'll be back to check out where this thread ends up in case I ever want to switch. Good luck on your exhaust endevers bro!

^^ kidding? no not at all, yeah their old past suspension hasn't been the greatest but they are now using new redesigned springs as well as revalved shocks, and they make alot more stuff other than suspension to. If you didn't know, they have the fastest frontwheel drive N/A rsx and integra in the world using pretty much all the parts that they sell to consumers, so that has got to say something about their quality

Sound-wise...I would rather it not be loud but more along the lines of smooth, low sounding.

well I have the HKS axle-back on my 04' VP sedan, and I love the sound. I wanted an exhaust that wouldn't annoy the hell out of me (and everyone else) and I can enjoy my music. The slanted look looks nice too

Which exhaust is comparable (sound wise) to the HKS axle back but not angled/slanted?

IMO that slanted look makes it appear the exhaust does not fit on your car.

HKS for the win man, its got that nice g35 deep gurble sound. not too loud, not too quiet. also....you can just purchase the muffler section if you dont like the angle axle-back piping.

HyeHonda05 will become famous soon enough
HKS Hi-Power or go custom and make your own axle back...thats what I did...It cost me $30 for the muffler off ebay and $80 to weld the muffler and for the 2.25'' piping for the axle back....hard to beat $110 total....but, I going to get the HKS because I love the looks of it and mine is becoming too loud because they took off my resonator too.

I love my magnaflow, good Hp gain, throaty, yet when cruising your almost silent.. Its a great balance and exactly what a good exaust should be... Coinsidentally, im selling my kit, im trading in my car soon so this will be up for grabs. If Interested pm me, and we can work something out.. You wont be disapointed with magnaflow.

Okay, after comparing costs I think I going to go with the Magnaflow. It's the biggest back for the buck IMO.
