Dumb Q:

I want to get an aftermarket Header for my civic and was wondering if they are illegal, say if a cop pops your hood and sees an aftermarket header?

* Want to get a Kamikaze header, and will just switch back to stock for my Smog Check. Anyone know if its a direct bolt on? (yes I know that Cat Conv is attached to the stock header)

DC 4-1 header is the only street legal header. There's another one on ebay thats C.A.RB exempt but I forgot the name.

hardly anything is legal in california. and if you live in south county then nothing is legal. dc makes legal stuff.

not worth the cash to buy a carb legal header, the gains are not worth the few hundred dollars. suck it up and get either a race header or nothing...

yea i was going to go for DC headers but i heard they are really bad so i just went with the HP Racing headers with there "high flow cat" which is pretty much a straight pipe or a really hallowed out cat.

This guy is from California so he only has 2 options stay stock or buy DC 4-1. Otherwise, you can get all the other brands you here ppl talking about.

well i might not know much about how cali is but im from jersey and the small towns here give me a whole bunch of trouble with tints and loud exhaust. But its like you cant win with cops lol. thats why its like u got to pick either stay stock or say forget it about really modding your car cause only doing some of the things aint really fun. idk thats my opinion

just put the race header on and keep your stock header. if you get a ref ticket, just put your stock back on.

yeah just get race header man. but if u really wanna be a goody good. dont listen to anyone and just get the dc. rmbr, anything is legal until u get caught =D
