ok i've got an 04 and the only real difference from the 01-03's i notice is the headlights. i see alotta parts listed for 01-04 and then some just 04-05 so i'm guessing there are some major differences. i thought the engines were the same. at first i thought maybe they were referring to the si models for some of the parts but, they weren't. you can even look in our fs board and see alittle of what i'm talkin about. can someone please fill me in.

Rep Power: 305 01-03 have same headlights.
04-05 have different headlights
Honda made a small "remodel" with the 04-05s. Nothing major though.

Rep Power: 289 I "heard" the tranny sincrows and some small setting with the ECU's were different.
there are still some VAFC2 questions about the 01-02 and 03-04 that in my opinion havent been answered.
but engine & body are the same except the headlights.

Rep Power: 276 the suspension is different cause its a 16mm bolt on the front where there is a 14mm bolt on the 01-03. the exterior is the same except for headlights which change the bumper, hood, and fenders. inside is diffferent too. there is a arm rest built on to the center console that opens up to storage, this was accually changed on the 03s but them moved them into the 04-05, also most people dont notice this but the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel is different. also the 01-03s had patterned seats where the 04-05 are solid.

Rep Power: 257 Can someone also clarify the whole 55/50 mm size of the front shocks too? These are for the Koni yellow folks. I heard 50mm for 01-02 and 55mm 04-05. Supposedly the 03's were all mixed up between 50 and 55 but I cannot confirm this.

Rep Power: 257 The rears I believe went from 12mm to 13mm big difference haha. The fronts I know went from 25.9 or something like that to 15.9. BTW I have an 03 civic with the 15.9mm bar up front and I just upgraded to EP3 17mm sway bar. I must say what everyone says is true. Very nice upgrade and car handles way better with a bit of oversteer with hard turns. But I think its easier to control. The factory sway bar looks like a toy compared to what I have now its a real joke. Sorry for the sidebar.

2001 ex has front 25.4mm sway bar and rear 12mm
2004 ex has front 15.9mm sway bar and rear 12mm
You can use a ep3 (17mm) but go for a rsx type s 21mm rear

Rep Power: 261 ^^Nice...I have the larger front sway bar but no rear, lol. 01 lx didn't come with a rear sway
I learned some things today, lol. Thought main diff. was only body, didn't know they changed the suspension or tanny.

Rep Power: 257 Ya I was gonna go for an rsx sway but I figured I'd have way too much oversteer being I have the smaller front sway compared to the 01-02 civics and I have just enough room so the bar doesn't hit my exhaust. 04-05's are nice but I love my 03.

Rep Power: 0 All 01 don't have a rear sway bar. Defcon Racing here in Toronto told me that to put one on you need an adapter that is a real pain in the ***. From now on I won't be buying the first year of any new model because they fix everything the following year.
